One player makes a comment about their former coach and it's all over the Clarion-Ledger? I know, I know. Don't get worked up over this rag. But goodness gracious. I'll be holding my breath waiting on all the player comments (negatively) about Lane Kiffin.

I don’t see that as Horka taking shots. He is putting out a sports article when the times are tough. Matter of fact, I enjoy hearing the positive and negative things of anyone.
Having said that, the player sounds like a whiny ***** who needs to grow a pair. A strong head coach is a dictator.

Anything the CL writes about state will either be negative or if it is positive they make it generic as possible.

I guess every time a former player thinks a coach didn't hug him enough we are going to get another article. The guy complained that he ran the team like a "dictatorship"? What?? I have never played on a team that wasn't a dictatorship. Actually never knew there was such a thing as "ballot box coaching". Get a grip Nancy.

Honestly the whole time I was reading the article I was laughing a little bit at the former player (and the two who agreed with him). I mean, I get that a coach maybe shouldn't publicly throw players under the bus. Then again, Leach isn't like any other coach out there and will say exactly what he's thinking. And he's never said anything in a press conference that's been any worse than stuff that gets posted here after a loss. Those poor fellas would've stroked out if they'd read our board after the UT loss last season.

Long story short - if you don't want to be called soft, don't play soft.

The article also ended with a couple of paragraphs of a 4th player calling the first three out and being very complimentary of Leach and how he has been treated post-graduation. I think it's just symptomatic of news coverage in general - lead with the negative to get views. I didn't think the article was all that bad to be honest.

It was Andre Dillard, who is an OT for Philadelphia Eagles now. Wasn't on WSU team last year, but the years previous.

The article did say that however Leach was to the players, it apparently got results, as the 2018 team Dillard was a senior on went 11-2, which is the most wins in a single season in WSU history.

Thing is, they aren't really dictators. They are just introverted guys who hold their teams to a high standard. Some of those players just can't handle the way a guy like that communicates, they don't understand it. I would venture to say a lot of the alleged hard coaches care as much or more about their players than the glad-handling back-slapper fake coaches.
