the administration has been listening to him. Wouldn't doubt we see something similar to France.

No doubt. Went yesterday and it was like going on Christmas Day. Mine did have a mandatory hand sanitizer before touching the keypad though.

Ha. I don’t go for attn or socializing. But I did witness a heated argument between an anti trumper and pro trumper that was entertaining. I thought it was going to lead to fisty cuffs but the anti trumper was a lot more upset and a lot bigger. They were hugging it out when I left.

Sweet sweet humanity**

Sports is 1 of top 5 items I enjoy along with hunting, going to church, craft beer and sex.
Now that sports and church are shut down I’m down to 3 items.😎

Not all gym goers are roided up. Or even look that muscular.

Especially these 2. The anti trumper is either Cajun or has a speech impediment and about 100 pounds overweight. The pro trumper was a 120 pound bald ole miss doucher know it all with a dead eye. He also carries a milk carton full of water and will stand there while you finish your set so he can tell you whatever it is he thinks he is an expert on at the moment. All while I am avoiding eye contact and have ear buds in. He is pretty much the worst type of person imaginable.

But the over weight dude with marbles in his mouth was having none of it.

Here..about 3 hours ago

Dr. Antony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, urged Americans to shut down more aggressively as the coronavirus spreads.
On MSNBC’s “Meet the Press” Mr. Fauci endorsed a 14-day “national shutdown” to help slow down the virus. He explained that he has brought it up with the administration, which is generally open to his ideas.
“I think Americans should be prepared that they are going to have to hunker down significantly more than we as a country are doing,” he said.

Please don’t close the gyms. I will not know what to do.

Gym equipment has probably the dirtiest surfaces of almost any, even though for years they've been telling you to wipe things down after you finish using them.

Gotta wonder how they got onto the subject of Trump. Most gym-goers just do their thing and don't talk to others.

I think he is right

I think we will be in strict quarantine in 3 weeks so let's do it now to mitigate stress on our medical infrastructure.

Then they will probably close at some point. Until they do I’m coming. I’m sure many will disagree with my decision, but I have to have some routine to not go nuts.

And that’s the difference between media outlets. According to Fox News he doesn’t think we need to do a total shut down like Italy. He said restaurants and bars. Places where large groups gather in close proximity.

The government will have to impose lockdowns because we have a bunch of dumbasses running around doing their routine.

I don't know if it's just selfishness or if they are trying to prove something by acting like an idiot..... whichever it is we can't count on the population to be smart enough to take care of this ourselves

The government has to make it mandatory. And they will

We aren't a "serious country"? What does that even mean? You think people in "serious countries" are 100% on board with the program? Many, many people will do the opposite of what the government tells them to do regardless of what country they are in, and sometimes it's a good thing.

Anyone that thinks we're going to completely shut down is wrong.

It will be similar to what's going on in Europe. Grocery stores, pharmacies, banks, ect . Those will stay open.

Restaurants, bars, sporting goods stores, schools, ect....all that will be shutdown eventually. If we are smart and self impose restrictions early it might not last long.

If people continue to be selfish or try to prove how tough they are the lockdown will be longer and more severe.

Wife just got a text from a friend who apparently has a friend who’s connected pretty high up.

Said they were going to implement a 14 day domestic travel ban.
I saw something similar on another forum earlier today..someone with DC connections, said US was about to lock things down.

It will be far less extensive than Italy. There will be no government lockdown, only recommendation.

All the media reports suck.

I've just about given up on every news outlet and started going straight to sources myself. Like that thread about "younger" people getting the virus. The links were designed to throw shade on the arguments that since there are so few infections among the youngest of us, this isn't that big of a deal. To do so, they cherry-picked statistics. Of course coronavirus is a big deal, but when arguments like that are made and people get to the real facts, it ends up weakening your side. The end goal for our government entities should an objective discussion and arriving at the right balance of decisions weighing fatalities, infection rates, herd immunity, future outbreaks, economic impact, and everything else. Unfortunately, our society appears to no longer be capable of such a discussion at almost any level.

Our schools just cancelled classes tomorrow through Wednesday, bringing the state government-recommended date forward.
In their decision to do so, they linked to an updated CDC guide that would've led to not closing down if they actually followed the decision tree.

I've seen it at the local government and community level repeatedly this week: the decision-makers are in some sort of pseudo echo chamber, following the herd from one decision point to the next without hard facts or guidance from the next level above. None of them want to be the one who gets blamed for the spread of something, and they're prioritizing that over the ripple effects of their decision. Heck, Boris Johnson and Bill De Blasio appear to be the closest thing to measured leadership at their respective levels.

You are acting like people are being non compliant. If a place of business is open and I go there that isn’t in my right? So anyone that goes to a grocery store or gas station is a moron too? Shut up you 17ing pseudo intellectual prick. You are the worst.

It's your right

Right now people are just recommending. People can keep doing what is their "right". And eventually the government will be forced to act because of selfish people like you.

Then when the government enforced lockdown ends up lasting longer and being more severe..... because people wanted to exercises their "right" instead of good judgement..... people like you will be the ones whinnying like a child that their rights are being taken away.

I am sorry but you might have to stop eating at fancy restaurants like Applebee's for a few weeks. You can do it on your own now, or you can continue to be a willful fool and do it when the government makes you

I am willing to bet I’m in just as good a position as any to ride this out. If they call for a travel ban I’ll comply. If they call for a quarantine I’ll comply. I have no issues being compliant and respectful to my neighbors and people of my community.

I just think it’s comical the reaction of your camp that I’m endangering thousands by going to the gym this weekend. I think y’all are a bunch of panicked idiots. And I assure you I am as well equipped to ride this out as any of you professionals. Arrogant *******.

I’ve read your posts this week. You should be embarrassed yet you keep doubling down.

This is a post from another forum..guy is a Firefighter in NM

Fire/EMS update #2-

Our crews are continuing to respond to an increase in Covid19 patients. For now, the majority of them are symptomatic, but not confirmed positive. We had to restructure our response configurations to lessen the numbers of our members that respond to these calls (i.e 2 instead of 4), to both halve the exposure rate and lessen the burn rate of PPE. Which, BTW, is something that is going to become a HUGE issue in the very near future, as we were told on Friday by one of our vendors that there is no hand sanitizer available nationwide. As I said earlier, please do NOT call 911 or self-report to the ED with flu-like symptoms. Stay at home and self-monitor. If you or a loved one are experiencing symptoms of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (shortness of breath, cyanosis, tightness in the chest), then activate 911.

We are currently staging with law enforcement at certain big box stores, as there has been an uptick in brawls over supplies. Unbelievable.

If at all possible, please, stay at home. If you have to go out, the one thing I would have with me is a pair of nitrile gloves. I am way more concerned about picking this up from contaminated surfaces. Avoid crowded areas. Six feet spacing. Or, stay the **** home. And for the _______s of the world, you are 100% contributing to the severity of this pandemic, and should be ******* ashamed of yourself.

As far as big picture stuff, ______’s friend may be on to something. I sat thru a briefing on Friday and left feeling like two things are coming down in the next week: Some sort of interstate travel ban, and a nationwide shutdown of "non-essential" businesses. So yeah, martial law (or close to it), in our lifetimes. Incredible.

Finally, if any of you know a first responder or a healthcare worker, send them air hugs and vibes. We are stressing TF out over our communities, loved ones, and ourselves. I will keep you all updated. Stay safe. Stay home.

Have you ever heard of Dr. Anthony Fauci?

Why do you think you know more than him? Why do you think I have a "camp"? It isn't a camp. It's people that know what they are talking about.

And eventually in your post is "I will be ok"..."I'll be fine".

You are selfish. Plain and simple. This isn't about you. I'm not the one that should be embarrassed.

...

When asked if hundreds of thousands of Americans could die from coronavirus, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, said “it could happen, and it could be worse."

Fauci's comments were made this morning on CNN’s “State of the Union” where he also discussed how the challenge "is to try and make that not happen.”

“If we go about our daily lives and not worry about everything” then the death toll will be high," Fauci said.
