best glue guy we've had in a long time. Howland and his assistant's have done a great job developing Ado. Yesterday was one of the cleanest games we've played all year with only 9 turnovers and I think Ado deserves a lot of credit for that for his new found ability to take the pass up top and rotate it to the guards/forwards correctly even if it's just handing it off to them. Thoughts on Ado?

Not only that, but he doesn’t freeze up top and allow the D to play 5 on 4. He will actually dribble a few times to draw the D back to him, freeing up those guards to find openings.

He gets hosed on moving screen calls, which is a call that’s rarely made in today’s game. But I would say about 50% of the time it’s called on him it’s a good screen

Richard Williams said on the radio broadcast that a lot of times that foul is actually the fault of the guard for not alllowing Adu enough time to get to his spot and set his feet before the guard uses the screen. It’s just a timing issue.

He can also take a hard drive down the middle. He never does it, but as a freshman he would press the d there. I wish he could do that and kick for 3.

Yep he plays straight up. Get called for some ******** fouls here and there and he takes it in stride.

The moving screens are Weatherspoons fault 99% of the time. Lil Spoon goes to early.

Isn’t he supposed to be a first rate soccer player too? Imagine that dude as a goalkeeper.

He has worked harder than any other player on the team to be a solid #5 player for our team. I am happy he has learned his spot on offense, he has really become a good defender and rebounder.

My favorite player on the team this year and he has another year to boot.

I agree. He is definitely one of those ..

He is a presence in the lane on defense. He's not a bad foul shooter. I'd like to see him work on his 3 ball a bit because he could almost shoot it like a FT as open as they leave him.

Ado plays the role that is really hard to appreciate while the guy’s here, and then you miss him like heck as soon as he’s gone. Brandon Vincent is the one that comes to mind for me.

I don't want to come off as a contrarian here (msugolfer), but I don't like how we use Ado on the offensive end. We bring Ado up to set screens, but with his limited, if not nonexistent, offensive threat, teams have begun to trap the screened-for player. Missouri did it. The guard must give the ball up and there is no open man (other than Ado). Why can't we use 2 offensive threats to set screens to pressure the defense, i.e. Woodard or Perry? They can't trap the guard, and it could create mismatches if the defense switches. We are not gaining any advantage if we use Ado to set screens above the free throw line.

After Vincent graduated there were so many players that were tagged by people on here as the next Brandon Vincent. Well finally after 15 years Ado is it.

I thought about that as well. Seems like every season since 2004, there’s been a thread or two about “if only we had a Vincent-type player down low”. It doesn’t feel like it should be that difficult on the surface, but I guess finding an athletic big man that is willing to sacrifice scoring for the betterment of his team isn’t nearly as easy to find as some would think. The ones that are out there typically get scooped up by blue bloods
