I think that may be an old update. The most recent one I can find is from 6:25 last night, and he has us in the Next 4 Out group.

Either way, the issue for our team never been mathematical elimination from the dance. It's unfortunately the fact that we're seemingly incapable of stringing together much effort or general success. Every couple wins is always followed by a loss that we can't afford, and I have zero faith that we're going to win these last 4. If I'm a betting man, I'd bet we actually drop two of them

Ah cool, we must've passed someone that lost later on last night. Well, it does at least seem like we're not out of the conversation yet, but we've got to stop dropping games. Yesterday was a really bad time to pick up our worst NET loss of the season. A&M is currently right behind Hofstra, No Colorado, and Ball St at the moment

The good news for State is this is a historically weak bubble. And if you slip in bc of that and win a couple games (which you certainly have the talent to do) no one will ever remember that it was a weak bubble.

I don’t know what State fans would ever do without all the helpful bearsharks telling us what’s “good for us.”

Mississippi State Bulldogs

Before Mississippi State lost by 12 at Texas A&M, mock brackets agreed that the Bulldogs would be one of the first two or three teams left out of the field of 68 if the selection had been made at that time. A Quad 2 defeat in College Station doesn't improve that situation, naturally, but it might not change it much either. MSU is hovering on the boundary of the top 50 in the NET rankings at 17-10 overall and 8-6 in the SEC. Ben Howland's team closes with games against Alabama, Missouri, South Carolina and Ole Miss, a stretch in which each win will lessen the amount of profile enhancement needed at the SEC tournament to have any shot at a bid.

I think you misinterpreted my post. But, I get why you read it that way, after re-reading it. My point was that while this season has been disappointing, thus far, for most of you; there’s still reason to be hopeful.

I promise you the majority of Ole Miss fans don’t go into every interaction with you trying to be an *******. And I know the same is true the other way, as well. Give people the benefit of the doubt, and it makes life better.

IDK about all that. Think this team has a 5 game winning SEC winning streak this season. I ain’t impossible for this team to win the next 4 games.

We win the last 4 games of the season and 1 game in SEC Tourney and I’ll be shocked if we are not dancing. Let’s pack the Hump Tuesday.

In my opinion, if I had to put percentages on our final 4 games W/L probabilities.

That we go:

4-0 20%
3-1 30%
2-2 35%
1-3 10%
0-4 5%

I’m with you on this, but this will be a type of game where 5 people will show up. Back in 2012 a game like this would be packed. I’m sure it wouldn’t be sold out with it being a weekday 8:00 game, but it would be a solid 8,000 or something. It’s really a damn shame.

lots of people use the SEC network as an excuse now but back in the Stans years CSS sports (is that what they were called?) covered every SEC game that wasn’t on ESPN or whatever. Yet in those days the hump was still packed.

If we somehow slipped in the back door and made the tourney I’d think we’d be a 10 seed or worse. How many of the top 25 teams in the field could we actually beat?

Honestly? Any of them. This team took Nova to the wire member? But they could also lose to a 16 seed.

You know, I want to disagree with you. But since his return, Perry has adopted an attitude similar to his and Carter has become a headcase where he was a leader early on. Maybe there is something there.

The team that took Nova to the wire didn’t have Nick Weatherspoon on it.... we played as a team then.

We didn't have nick vs la tech, and we lost. Nick frustrates the hell out of me, but I think we're a better team with him. He does need to control his emotions though

I've been a cheerleader all year, but I think we lose at usce and win the rest, win one or two in the sec tourny and land a 1 seed in the NIT. Then there will be much bitching about why nobody showed up to our loss to Florida State.

I hope we lose to FSU; they're #12 in net. I get your point though

Of course we would have a 10 seed or worse- the last 4 in are 11 seeds who play one another before the actual tournament even starts.
Its worse than being a Wednesday game in the SECT.
