Yeah, it all has to be proven on an SEC field, but why not look at it for the fun of it.

Costello- 2018. Why 2018, he played the full season and was not injured. Attempted 414 passes.

Season: 65.1%
Home: 66.8%
Road: 63.5%
Vs AP Top 25: 68.3%

Dak -2014. Was also his Jr season and the season we went #1. Attempted 396 passes.

Season: 61.6%
Home: 63.7%
Away: 59.8%
Vs AP Top 25: 61.4%

I think the sample size is pretty even. Now we have Leach that will push 500+ passing attempts:

2019: 689 attempts
2018: 662
2017: 713

etc etc etc...

I think it's safe to assume that Costello has the ability and will now be in a system that could allow him to shatter the record here.

The math breaks down like this:

650 attempts at a 65.1% completion ratio is 423 completed passes. That's 154 MORE completed passes in a year. He averaged 13.16 yards per pass. That's 2,026 MORE yards for the season, or 5,566 yards in passing at his current %. If he increases that in this system...... geez!

These are the records that will be broken:

- Passing attempts
- Passing comps
- Passing yards
- Passing TDs

Makes you smile doesn't it

What would that matter? I tell you San Diego State was ranked 21st in defense, and you come back with "yeah but they play in the MWC". In fact, it get's into nobody has a defense unless it's the SEC.

The ranked teams Dak faced:

#2 Auburn.. defense ranked 64th.
#8 LSU... 9th
#6 TAMU... 102th
#12 G tech...79th
#5 Bama was 12th..

Costello:

Cali- 15th
Washington- 12th
SDS -21
Utah 14th
