Ok. This is long. And I'm giving the guy more credit than he deserves. But I wanted to be polite because I'm curious to see if they can twist and spin this in anything that resembles journalism....or if he even has the guts to answer me.

Also I suffer from awful insomnia. I don't have anything else going on

…..........…

Good morning. I just ran across your article ranking college baseball stadiums and was surprised to see Dudy Noble at Mississippi State not included.

I'm sure you are used to fans having bias opinion, but I think it's fair, given the national reputation of this park, to wonder how you came about leaving them off? It's not just fan bias. The Stadium is universally considered in the top 5. I think very valid arguments can be made for #1, but this is really about them not being on the list at all.

I understand you have criteria. Let's look at each

1) Food. The grills in the outfield alone put it near or at the top

2) Atmosphere. Left field lounge. Condos. The top 6 largest in campus crowds.... 15 of the top 16 .....19 of the top 25 crowds. Atmosphere is obviously at or near the top

3) Neighborhood. Starkville gets a bad rap, it's a great college SEC town. But being honest, Most people wouldn't put it at the top of your top 25 list, but they also wouldn't but it at the bottom. It's absolutely on par or better than some on the list

4) Fans. See atmosphere. At the top

5) Access. See neighborhood. Middle of the pack

6) Return on investment. I honestly don't know the financials. The Stadium was expensive, but we are one of the largest fanbases. Successful program. But since this is the only category we MIGHT not be on I will give you this.

7) Extras....condos. skyboxes. Grills. Room for 15k plus. Largest video board. This is a category I am confident we are #1.

So to be honest, I feel like you leaving us off was a troll of some sort, but that would really hurt the creditability of your site. I want to give you a chance to explain this before I dismiss the whole website

So I am curious if you can explain this in a logical way? By my count we meet at least 6 of the 7 categories...and likely all 7. ..... We are at the top of at least 4 of the 7.

What gives

Any list that doesn’t have Dudy Noble in, at bare minimum, the Top 10 is a ridiculous list. My mom has never watched a college baseball game in her life and could have made a better list.

There’s plenty of things fans can argue with State fans about. Them not having a great baseball stadium is not one of them.

Top 10? Putting The Dude anywhere after 1 is laughable.

He says this in his final thoughts on the review of The Dude:

[h=2]One of the Best College Ballparks in the Country[/h]<snip>

[h=3]Final Thoughts[/h]Coming to a game at Dudy Noble Field is truly a bucket list experience for baseball fans of all levels. From the grills in left field to the fans and their thousands of cowbells being rung, these all add to the spectacle of attending a game here and are something everyone should experience. Attending a game here brings everyone together whether they are a baseball fan or not. And as John Grisham also said, “I always feel like a better person after leaving a game at Dudy Noble Field.”

That’s the thing, if you read the article, he clearly came to Starkville and talked to people.</snip>

There’s always the one guy who can’t take a compliment.

There’s a key phrase after that that says “at bare minimum”. Implying that Top 10 is being insanely safe, and would be absurd to even consider otherwise. It would be inarguable. I get that you think Dudy Noble is #1, and for good reason. I might even agree with you. But it could argued against, fairly.

I’ve been to Alex Box and Dudy Noble for entire weekend series, and I’d probably rank LSU #1 and State #2 in the country. And the gap between 1&2 is much closer than 2&3. It’s very close. Honestly, the only reason I tend to put LSU #1 is because their fans are so much fun. The in-state hostility between State and Ole Miss fans makes the road fans experience at each other’s stadiums less enjoyable. Which is stupid, but is what it is. It goes both ways, too.

There’s no doubt, whatsoever, that State has an elite baseball stadium. It’s incredible.

Of course you'd rank The Dude lower than Alex Box. I wouldn't ever expect an OM fan to give that much credit to State. Even LSU fans know which stadium is superior, and it's not theirs. The Dude is in a class by itself and to say otherwise shows ignorance or stupidity.

This is an absurd take. Baum and Swayze are better than the New Box. LSU went quick, cheap, and for size. The character comes completely from the people. Dudy Noble, Baum, and Swayze have that plus the amenities.

In an effort to jab State, you rank your own park lower than one it’s clearly better than.

You cant be serious that you are going to put Alex Box over the new Dude? Wait a second you are as messed up as the ranking this thread is about. I mean really, you need to go back to wherever you came from. Alex Box has huge vertical beams that that obstruct viewing the field, the have metal bleachers in the outfield, no left lounge, no condo’s and the nastiest acting fans anywhere!

As far as the toxicity of the MSU and Ole Miss don’t you need to be in Oxford trying to figure out which Ole Miss player next is going embarrass your university yet again nationally!

Or, maybe I just actually stayed my true opinion and had no intention of taking a jab at State. Crazy, I know.

I have no issue giving State credit for anything. I’d think my history posting here is proof of that.

You seem to be extremely defensive over an opinion that’s slightly different from yours. I literally said your stadium is one of the top 2 in the country and you and others are throwing a fit about it. Hell, if you think I’d never give MSU credit why do you even care what I think?

Why do you even come here spew your B.S.! Just a typical Ole Miss person! Why don’t you look at facts rather than opinion. I listed facts not a Ole Miss homer opinion that has to throw shade on anything MSU. So typical!

And I don’t recall any MSU player trying to ratchet up the toxicity between Ole Miss and MSU by acting like a dog and piss on the field. Please refresh my memory about toxicity and who caused it as of recently.

I live in Tallahasse and there is absolutely nothing special about the FSU stadium! OK, they do sell beer there during regular season games but thats it. The FSU fans will be quick to tell you that also.
