Bo Pelini as LSU DC...

[dawgstudent]

what's everyone's thoughts?

[patdog]

I think it's a good hire.

[Msubulldogfan1]

Very good hire for sure.

[MSUDC11]

I think it’s a downgrade from Aranda but anyone would’ve been. I’m sure he’ll be fine.

[Msubulldogfan1]

LSU was 33rd in total defense this year, and steadily got worse each year under Aranda. I wouldn’t be surprised if Pelini is actually an upgrade.

[patdog]

Yeah. I never really understood all the Aranda hype. I thought he was a fairly average DC. I do give him credit that his defense did improve as the season went on last year though.

[OliveBranchDAWG]

Good hire. I never would’ve guessed Pelini was only 52

[RocketDawg]

Looks like LSU upped Auburn with the DC's salary: $2.875

Aren't we paying ours "only" 900K?

I shoulda gone into football .... **

[Trojanbulldog19]

good hire for them. he was great DC for them back in the day and i thought he was a decent HC at Nebraska.

will be interesting to see how he adapts to the new offenses in the SEC. it's big difference from what it was the last time he was at LSU.

[Leeshouldveflanked]

Pelini > Aranda as far as DC’s concerned....

[TrapGame.sixpack]

Good hire. He was good the last time he was there. If O keeps the offense going they are a 10-11 win team already.

[Cooterpoot]

I'll sit back and wait on one of his crazy *** rants. He and O together should be interesting.

[Dawg1976]

They were smart to go after him. Good hire.

Just as good as Aranda but cheaper.

[RockKickinSandPoundinSOB]

I think it’s a downgrade from Aranda but anyone would’ve been. I’m sure he’ll be fine.

I disagree. Dave Aranda is very overrated when you actually look at the numbers. He got paid #1 Defensive Coordinator money but only fielded one defense in the top 5 at LSU with LSU talent. Bob Shoop fielded the #1 Defense in 2018 for less than half and we ran his *** off.

Bo loves cats

[Shamoan]

It’s a great hire.
