Those were some of the worst refs EVER. Why are women's basketball games so poorly officiated? The SEC should be embarrassed by that **** show.

That short haired female ref AKA helmet head has always been a thorn in our side. I'm not sure but I believe she reffed at least one of the national title games. It seems that she works most of the big games in women's basketball and we usually get the short end of the stick. It told my wife when I saw her on the court that Carter would have two fouls before the end of the first period. At least one of the fouls was away from the ball. She used to get Big T the same way. Those seem like small plays in the game but they really affect the player's psyche when they get called for ticky tack fouls early in the game.

Bibby was clearly fouled on the steal and break away layup by Harris (I believe) and Danberry got hit on the elbow by Boston on the jumper that came up short. Of course, the whistles were swallowed in those instances. I guess it is just the norm in Columbia. I hope the ladies get another crack at them this season. I feel like our players' confidence should surge even in defeat. They now know that they can play with and beat anybody in the country in any location save for Oregon on the west coast. Ducks are a horrible match up for the ladies.

the illegal screen, if called equally, would have really leveled USC. they hit a moving screens quite often. as for the reaction, when they get hit with all those ticky tack fouls right off the tip, it does tend to make them clam up. Jessica was no different last night.... she got 2 and she wasn't much the same. boston was allowed to push, shove, elbow, climb the back the rest of the way.

oh...and Tina Napier was a ref when we played USC for the Natty. She was also the lead official when we played USC the next year in the SEC tournament final -- I was at that game and it was over quickly as we'd exhausted most of the fouls possible (and impossible).

I forgot about the moving screen on Danberry

Forgot about the moving screen on Danberry that knocked her flying into the dribbler and Jordan was called for a foul that she was clearly pushed into. Of course, announcers completely ignored the moving screen causing the contact. Ugh..

It is clear that Tina Napier loves her some Dawn Staley. I wonder if she is any relation to Billy?!?!

She has always been terrible but the dude with the whistle was so bad even the radio guys were talking about it. I'm not sure if he ever actually called a foul on SC in the fourth quarter but he never did in the previous three. He was also the one who overruled a turnover as a foul without an explanation.

SC gets protected every year and all I can come up with is the Dawn effect, which is unbelievable.

The only reason I am not more pissed than I probably should be is the performance our girls put on last night, primarily the freshwomen. They have zero fear and I believe they will beat SC or pretty much anyone with more experience. They simply astounded me with the game they played last night and I promise you that Dawn is really worried about playing us in an even environment.

If you remove the intentional fouls by Carolina in the 4th, Carolina committed 2 fouls in the second half. In a physical "paint" game, that is ridiculous.
