How did he do vs out of conference, arkansas, a&m, ky, and ole miss? They all gashed us. Even freaking arkansas. Yes we were young, but we out talented all of those teams. Coach34 could have coached the '18 defense to the same results. When he did well at vandy, it was against a very weak east. Teams are going to try to slow us down if we are running the air raid...ie limit possessions. The nickel wont stop the run unless it is a 3 3 5. Please stop your love affair with this guy.

Doesn’t matter. He gone.

I’m not sure you understand what “gash” means. Arky, Abilene Christian, and Kansas State had less than 300 yards of offense. Ole Miss has less than 300 prior to that final drive (which the 4th down conversion was inexcusable). Only A&M and Louisiana has over 400 yards offense out of all the teams you mentioned. LSU barely got over 400 yards when they average 564 per game.

To me, gash means getting 17ing 7 yards running on first down or 3rd and less than 7.

Those plays happen occasionally. Grantham had that happen in quite a few games as well. Gash to me means that the offense can do whatever they want and move the ball at ease. That is not true if you have less than 300 yards of offense. That is a good defensive day.

Yes USM and UL had success in the second half. In the Ole Miss game, prior to the last drive, they had 112 yards in the whole second half. So how is that being gashed by Ole Moss again? The first two games can be explained pretty easily by all the youth seeing their first significant action. Also back to your original post. You dismiss his success at Vandy because the East wasn’t very good, but ignore that Vandy probably still had the worst talent level of any of them. Almost every game they were going up against more talented players.
