Would you rather have Dan Mullen or Mike Leach...

Help me out... Probably Mike Leach, right?

Right now, Mullen...only because we know he can win here and has proven it. Hopefully Leach will be as good as Mullen, ideally better. In short order we will know.

Leach. Dan did us a solid by raising the bar but I think he had maxed out. While they may be on a 58 year old man, I prefer the new, exciting tits.

Leach. Dan’s attitude and arrogance had gotten old. It was easy when he was here because it was one of those “yeah he’s an ******* but he’s our *******,” but it was a relief when he moved on tbh. Now obviously winning is the most important thing and I feel like Leach can be just as successful. And it’s just going to be a much more pleasant experience having the media actually give us a tiny bit more positive publicity along the way.

This might be a good time to mention that someone should inform Mike that we did not enjoy Dan coaching in shorts.

Mike Leach doesn't give a 17 what Dan Mullen wore. That was three 17ing years ago. 17 Dan Mullen and 17 me and 17 those shorts.

If you are looking for a coach who is going to give two damns about what he wears, Leach isn’t your guy.

Something tells me Leach would not run Holloway up the middle three out of four plays. Something tells me Leach would put the best guy on the field and not upper class man just because he is a upper class man.

Leach can coach in a thong and a mustard stained wife beater if he can go 9-3 / 10-2 and beats Alabama every 3rd year.

As an objective outsider, this one is closer to me than many of y’all seem to think. Leach has certainly had the more impressive career, and I think he still has a lot left in the tank. Mullen has had a couple of impressive seasons at Florida. I would’ve loved to see what Dan could’ve done with the 2018 team.

That said, Leach is a former National Coach of the Year, two-time PAC-12 coach of the year, Big 12 coach of the year, and it STILL seems like he doesn’t get the respect he deserves. I think he honestly craves success in the SEC. I believe that he believes it will define his legacy. He’s been itching to get into this league for awhile. So I’ll say Leach. But it’s close.

I could have a beer or 10 and just listen to what Leach had to say. I would slide down the bar if I were next to Dan. They both are exceptional coaches and we should be grateful for the 9 years we got from dan. Without that, we wouldnt be a destination now. All that said, i think the power spread suits us better next year than the air raid does, but I'm still excited as 17 to see what happens

I’ll say Leach because he’s motivated to be here. Mullen was motivated half the time and never in January and February leading up to signing day. What’s funny is if Hunchback would have recruited better he would have been out of here sooner and that’s what he wanted.

Leach by a mile. Dan was the guy from that meme that’s looking at the girl behind him and his woman. Leach seems like the type that will love the one he’s with. That’s not to say I think he won’t ever leave, but I don’t think he’s going to constantly be looking at every hot, single lady that tosses her hair.

I wonder why he chose State to make his go at it in the SEC.

I wonder what path Leach's career would have taken if the situation with Craig James' kid hadn't happened.

Regardless, I'm glad he's here.

This may be Leach's swan song. He is looking at his twilight years career wise; he wants to prove that he can win in the SEC; he's been around the block; arguably the highest profile job he's had unless TT would be higher. he's making more money; may be here for the duration...if he wins enough

We are texas tech and wasu of the sec. I'm sure he would have chosen KY first if they didn't have an established and very good coach already. He would have to wait another year or two for mushchamp to get removed.

Dan Mullen and it’s not even close. Dan Mullen’s issues at State were he was constantly looking for other jobs and couldn’t keep a good DC. I’d love to see what he could’ve done here for a good 3-4 year stretch with Grantham.

Leach is going to be fun as hell. We may not always win, but it’s going to be a good time.

Mullen was a dick, is a dick, and is still a dick. I did not care for hevesy and I hated the way he used personnel. He sucked at recruiting.

I’d much rather roll with the guys I like than the douche that wins.

I think - Dan hit his ceiling here with what he does on offense. If we’re honest with ourselves, we do need something that will give us an occasional edge over better teams. Leach brings that. You simply have to look at what he’s accomplished with much less talented teams. I know this is the sec west but again - we’d done all we could under Dan. I don’t want to use the word “gimicky” but, Leach does some things that allow us to work around some our traditional weaknesses. And you can’t argue that he develops quarter backs. And I just believe the receivers we’ve missed on in recruiting, will now give us some consideration. You have to think some of the UM receivers would have ended up at MSU with a chance to be showcased more by playing for Leach. As was said on Golich and Wingo yesterday - MSU is now a national topic and we made a Splash with this. It shows we’re serious about doing something different to win. I’m happy to have him over Dan. I get the Impression Leach feels he can beat bama if given the chance. Dan gave me the impression that he knew he couldn’t beat bama as long as he stayed in Starkville. And I don’t think he could have either. There’s some sec teams a little nervous about this hire. My UM friends (the honest ones) definitely ain’t happy about it. Their Kiffin excitement left the building 2 days ago.

Leach said in his press conference that his offense was based on the triple option...so is Dan's. It's all about numbers and creating an opening due to formation. Where Dan faltered is that he would go ultra conservative when facing a superior opponent. I have no doubts the pirate wont do that. So we will beat some teams we shouldn't and we will get blown out sometimes where Dan would have kept it close. The downside is that we might lose to teams that we should beat as well. Take the good with the bad. When you downvote me, bookmark this. I'm happy to have the pirate, bit it is what it is.

Normally I agree with you but I disagree from this standpoint. They are both good but I always felt that Dan couldn't win the big game. I believe that Mullen coached scared against Alabama and whoever else that was hot at the time. I believe that Leach ain't going to be scared against anyone. May not win but it won't be because our coach is scared.
