For those of you worried about recruiting running backs or getting our backs the ball, look at the numbers. Here’s a plays from scrimmage comparison between Kylin and WSU’s leading back this year.

Kylin - 260 touches (242 rushes, 18 receptions) 1530 yards and 11 TDs
Max Borghi - 213 touches (127 rushes, 86 receptions) 1414 yards and 16 TDs

No more pounding the A/B gaps with slow developing run plays 20+ times per game. We are going to get our backs the ball in space in a variety of ways. Granted I know nothing about Max Borghi, but he put up similar/better numbers than Kylin... And I guarantee you Kylin is the more talented player.

Leach’s offense actually seems to fit the backs Moorhead was bringing in better than Moorhead’s offense did.

ETA And there is no point in comparing the receiver stats. It would only make your head spin. It will be interesting to see how the Leach era plays out. One this is for certain though - if you are a skill position player or QB on our team, today was a really good day for you.

Good post. Will give Kylin a good chance to showcase his versatility next year.

WSU had seven 40+ catch receivers this year. We haven’t even had a single guy catch more than 30 passes since Fred Ross caught 70 four years ago.

Interesting stat. I certainly wouldn’t have thought that possible. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully that brings Kylin back another year.
