Who is going to catch the ball?

[LeeDawg]

I'm excited. But when that wears off and its time to figure out this system, how are we running air raid? As stubborn as Mike Leach is, will he not throw the ball till we are blue in the face even if it's not working? Wasn't the stubborness of Moorhead trying to do his system partially what got him fired??

[Xenomorph]

Probably the receivers.

[LeeDawg]

Since when do our receivers catch balls?

[Crazy Cotton]

I was surprised at how balanced his offense was this year. I love how many plays he ran per game.

[Felonious Junk]

Don’t underestimate Leach’s ability to use his scheme to create a Michael Crabtree, Wes Welker, Danny Amendola etc

[eedawg]

Maybe Heath can.

[MSUDC11]

I think we will have some guys step up. He is very good at finding ways to get guys the ball.

[RPOdawg]

My guess is we get a few grad transfers. Wide receivers and QB’s will be knocking down the damn door to play in this offense.

[Dawgzilla]

Mullen already told Felipe Franks to go play for Leach at WSU...

[BlueRidgeMtns]

You mean the CatchMen?**

Unless I'm reading this wrong, it shows they ran the ball more than they passed... which is not really at all what I was expecting.

[Shamoan]

if they cant catch, they wont play. i bet Austin Williams gets a lot more PT.

[Maroonthirteen]

Mitchell, Williams and Heath about to put up some numbers.

[grimedawg1]

It will work. But, only if our guys turn and look at the sideline for an extended period of time before the ball is snapped.

[J-Dawg]

It's not like Leach's system (or any air raid system) needs 6'4", 5-star receivers to be successful. That's the beauty of the air raid. Made Wes Welker into an NFL player.

[Irondawg]

If Rufus Harvey can pass the ACT I'm betting he might get a late offer. Will be interesting to see if anybody bolts now and how many transfers we accept

You're not reading it wrong, but I don't know where those stats are coming from.

https://www.espn.com/college-football/team/stats/_/id/265

They threw it 710 times and ran it 210 times according to the stats on ESPN.

ETA: They almost had more pass attempts than rushing yards.

[8dog]

He had 1 WR drafted after his first year at wazzu. 1.

[Crazy Cotton]

I'm a complete dumb-*** and looked up the wrong team. Those are Washington Huskies stats. Sorry folks!

[kired]

Mitchell, Payton, and Williams are going to be our top returning guys. Still got a ton of TEs on the roster... I have no idea how he might get those guys involved. Wonder what Keytaon's thinking right now. Would be interesting if he stuck around and finally made the full time move to WR.

[Shamoan]

the system just needs guys that can catch the ball when it hits their hands and a qb that can get it there.
