Anyone know anything else about Joe Judge?

Didn’t know of him until today seeing his name.. apparently a WR and special teams coach for the Patriots and being interviewed for the Giants Job. He is a MSU alumni I believe and working on a PHD in education.

He was a GA under Saban. Then went to Belicheck as an analyst type role. Has been promoted twice and is heavily thought of in the NFL coaching circles

I remember he was ejected in a game he didn't even play in. I think he pushed a Bama player over a bench after he tackled our guy way out of bounds. That's sticking up for your teammates.

He really wanted the job 2 years ago, but didn't have the name recognition. Part of him getting the wide receiver title this season with the Patriots and interviewing for NFL jobs was to position himself better knowing Jomo might be gone after 2020.

He did got ejected at Alabama after Bama fan shoved Big Country David Stewart...

Who had blocked him all the way to the sidelines. Judge pushed him off of Country but he fell over the bench and got the ejection. He did play in that game and I believe recovered a muffed punt fumble the exact play before getting ejected.

In the meantime, Judge said his family tries to visit Starkville as often as possible. They’ve even penciled in a trip for Super Bulldog Weekend in April, where Joe and Amber can share even more Bulldog tradition with their brood.
“MSU has given a lot more to me than I’ve given to it,” Judge said. “Hopefully, I’ll be able to return the favor at some point.”

If we hire Judge, I'm trademarking my section at the football games as The Hung Jury. ***

What a second...is he the guy who came in the game at Arkansas like 20 years ago and ran a successful 2pt conversion???? I remember my dad telling me "someone named Judge came in the game at QB."

It'd be great if we can get him, but even with his ties to starkville, I'm not sure we'd be able to offer him a job that is competitive with staying in the NFL. If he's getting interviews for a head coaching job int he NFL, I'm guessing he'll have an opportunity to take a coordinator spot there soon. Not sure he's getting a P5 coordinator position as his first coordinator position when he hasn't shown what he can do recruiting wise. I'm guessing he'll be good at recruiting, but not sure a P5 school is going to hire him as a coordinator with the recruiting aspect being unknown and no coordinator experience.

I know it seems like Napier is a done deal and he is my first choice but judge intrigues me the most. It would be a totally risky hire though that could work

As I've said before this is his dream job, wife from MS she played soccer at state. I spoke with him this morning, he didn't tip his hat if he's heard anything, but he is preparing for a playoff game. He is my pick, checks all the boxes Cohen mentioned today, discipline, hard nosed and blue collar. Yes he's from Philadelphia PA but he is Marron and White through and through. I also think he is smart enough to be a head coach and let the coordinators do their job!

I just can't imagine we'd roll the dice on somebody with zero head coaching or coordinator experience and virtually no college experience (think he may have zero experience outside being a GA?). Unless you are talking about him coming in as a special teams and associate head coach (which i'm not sure he would take), it'd be too much of a gamble to hire somebody like that when we are still paying the last coach.

Sounds like that’s Joe Judge, Jury, and Executioner.
