My first experience in the Super Dome was in Sept for the ULL game. That place is a dump. Not sure I’ve been in a worse stadium.

True dat but...at least the temp inside was 72 the first of Sept and not 98 in the shade outside if we would’ve played at Scott Field.
I’ll take 72 in a dump...every Sept game...:)

If you ever want to find out what climbing Mt. Everest must have been like to Sir Edmund Hillary, buy an upper seat in there. It's a miracle that with all the intoxication that occurs in that building on a weekly basis nobody has fallen to their death climbing those steps.

My Dad, upon arriving at his seat at the top of the dome, said, “Son, can you tip my sherpa for me?”

Sure, it’s a stadium built in the 70’s and has its faults, but it’s far from the “worse stadium”. The superdome has held out tremendously well considering its age and it’s history. There are certainly some logistical issues and some uncomfortable seats but the uniqueness of the superdome will never be matched.

If you want to see a real ********, visit the lower west side of Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville.

There were 20,000 at our ULL game and you couldn’t navigate the concourses at halftime. “Logistical issues”puts it mildly. I can’t imagine how awful it would be to see a packed house a Saints game there.

I'm sure bar owners and bartenders were thrilled to find out Baylor was headed to the Sugar Bowl.

It's past its prime no doubt.

But it's hard for me to hate on any facility where I can watch a live game in air conditioning and make a few steps to find a beer or a bloody mary. It serves its purpose just fine for me.

So you haven’t stepped foot in the lower west side of Davis Wade in at least 7 seasons? You dated yourself nicely on this one.

Whatever soccer park the chargers play in has to be #1. Also, Lambeau field can't be considered a modern marvel, even though it is considered a shrine to NFL football.

I got you. I've seen many packed Saints games and the concourses can get crowded and uncomfortable for sure. I'm just saying there are worse (way worse) stadiums.

I buy season tickets and sit there every single year. The lower (middle and upper) west side needs vast improvements and we've talked about them numerous times on this board.

Come again? What is the "lower (middle and upper)" supposed to mean exactly?

The lower west side is the nicest part of the stadium along with the student endzone. Brand new since 2013. So you are quite confused on something here.

Saw a dude fall down from the top to nearly the bottom. Spilled his beer all over an old lady as it flew straight up. Pretty sure he survived but I dont know for sure

It’s obvious that many of you haven’t been to very many NFL venues, but that’s not stopping you from having a strong opinion. Sporting News ranks the Superdome as the 10th best NFL stadium. Athlon ranks it as 16th best. The worst NFL stadium I’ve ever been to was Qualcomm in San Diego. Simply atrocious.

Yes, Qualcomm sucked.

The superdome started sucking before they did the renovation. It's somewhat better now, but still behind some others. Some of my favorite NFL stadiums:

Tampa
Tennessee
Houston
Seattle

My favorites that I’ve been to, in order:

Dallas (new stadium)
Atlanta (yuck, but the stadium is nice)
Tampa (cool atmosphere)
New Orleans

Qualcomm was embarrassingly bad when I went a few years ago. Chargers deserved better. Miami’s stadium sucks too, IMO.
