We all know changes are going to be made. But where?

I was watching some post game interviews and listening to some talking heads last night and today. We have known that Moorhead will make changes to his staff within the next 3 weeks. There's some chatter and some people excited about it. Me, I'm a wait and see kinda guy.

Here is the staff:

- Moorhead
- Hughes
- Richardson
- Deke
- Buckley
- Johnson
- Johnson
- Briener
- Shoop
- Jones
- Marve (already gone)

Let's despense with the "moorhead is gone... needs to be gone... must go.... it don't matter as long as". He is here. There are changes being made. The question is who is leaving and who are we getting?

- Jones... I would love to see him gone. But who do we replace him with? We have to find somebody. Nothing worse than watching a DII program have better ST play.

- Marve. He's gone. So who do you put in his place?

- Breiner. With the talent we have at that position, we need a guy that can excel here.

- OC.... I believe this will be added. I hope it's somebody from a passing background. I like Brian Smith, Mike Bobo...etc Bobo took over a passing game that was 50-60 and in 2 years had a passing offense ranked #15, 13, 20 and has ties to Georgia.

Anyway, let's hear it. Who you got in and out?

To Ibdancin's credit, AKA Thomas1096 on 247, he did say last night next year should be Joe's last if he doesn't show a lot of improvement.

As long as Joe Moorhead is the head coach of this football team, any changes within the program are a complete waste of time. I give absolutely no ***** about the internal workings as long as he is the captain.

I get Dre has tried his best to make me into several different people, he's wrong. I do agree with that though. He can't stay forever with this lack of production.

So who do we bring in?

Not sure what that accomplishes in a forsure return of the HC, but changes are being made and all anybody is trying to do is talk about that.

Anything to offer?

I disagree and submit Coach O. He was a train wreck as a coach but a good recruiter. Well now he has a great line up of assistants combined with his recruiting savvy and has LSU on another level. We need to at least try to upgrade the assistants before spring practice.

You say this same thing on other boards, too. You're not fooling anyone. I'm glad you're coming around on Moorhead though. Maybe that will cut back some of the nonsense.

He’s also had a decade of maturing & learning since his Mississippi days. We don’t have the luxury of giving Moorhead that much time to learn on the job.

But the original post is a legitimate question. Whether we like it or not, Moorhead is our coach. So the real question is, which assistants stay, which are fired, & who do we replace them with. I have no idea other than Jones will almost certainly be fired.

The difference is that Coach O recognized it and let go. Joe Moorhead is not going to let go of the offense. It's his.

Moorhead's only hope to be successful here is to abandon this RPO crap and go find an offensive coordinator who is skilled at running a power spread offense, along with a kick *** strength coach and a new special teams coach. Then he needs to let his new offensive coordinator make the offensive position coach hires. I expect he is going to deal with S&C and special teams, but he's too proud and stubborn to make those changes on the offensive side of the ball, so we will be looking for a new coach next Thanksgiving.

The problem is you are putting faith in Croomhead changing the way he dictates his offense be run. There is no change that will matter unless he gives total control up from his offense which he's not gonna do.
The defense is Shoops.
Special teams is the only on field place we can hope to see changes.
S&C overhaul needs to be done, but again will he allow it. He's told us it's His program.
A disciplinarian is in desperate need, but He isn't gonna allow that. His program will be run His way.

So, in total, until He changes His philosophies His program will go backwards. Croom didn't change his, and Croomhead won't change his either. Sorry, but it's glaringly evident It's Time....

No doubt it can work, but he will be gone next year if he doesn't make the needed changes and finish in recruiting

Bring DJ Looney back to coach OL. Rebel coach gotta go. That alone will not fix our problems, but I would rather lose (or loose) with a dawg than a shart. Also get rid of Joey Jones and bring in Chad Bumphis. Special teams can't get much worse.

Maybe he needs to be. THat's the point of the thread. So who replaces him?

People are set on Moorhead being gone, but the truth is he isn't and won't be for another year. It doesn't matter if you agree or not. So let's talk about the changes we think will happen.

LSU spent a lot of money and hired an NFL OL coach. It has paid off. LSU has an excellent OL and gives Burrow lots of time to throw. We need a top notch OL coach also if we are going to really compete.

Moorhead is not in Coach O's league as a HC. That's been obvious for awhile.

And MSU is not LSU. We can't be good without a solid head coach. We don't have one so the assistant moves don't mean **** until he's gone.

Very few actually want to talk about it. Most simply enjoy taunting you and you probably deserve that.

I'll offer again that I don't care at all about the staff changes and care very little about next season. I'll watch the games and root for the team out of 40+ years of loyalty and habit, but my enthusiasm for discussing much about the program is gone until the overlords face reality and do their jobs.

Here is what the SEC haves did when the have nots threatened them. Spend MONEY! We can not compete with them in funds. LSU just paid their passing co-coordinator an NFL salary.

Either we figure out a way to match those funds, or keep trying up and coming coaches, or understand that we can not out spend them and accept that we will be a team that challenges on the occasion and recruit and pay to be a Mid to upper SEC west team.

We will NEVER out spend bama, LSu, Tamu

I guess I won’t bother writing out a detailed response because you just said it for me. There will be some personnel changes, but until Joe lets go of his playcalling demands(which he won’t), there’s no coaching change that is going to matter.

On a related topic, I listened to Hadad and Coleman make comments all year about how ridiculous it was that some fans were so inexplicably pissed when KT lost his starting job. I love both of you guys, but let me tell you... it wasn’t because KT had “earned his spot”. It was because we would’ve undoubtedly won two more games this season(now maybe 3) with him running the show. We didn’t need a transfer nor did we need to be anything fancy on offense. We just needed to run an offense that we had the talent to run.

66 million in the bank since Mullen arrived. Net total revenue - net total expenses. Not accounting for accrued interest.

Yes, we can pay coaches right beside all of those teams you listed. That's how Clemson built their monster. They rewrote the rule book on paying good assistant coaches 7-8 years ago and this is where they are now. Dan left us with a Tommy Bowden level foundation and we are squandering it. Clemson was also near us in total revenue in 2010-2011 when they decided to get serious.

Orgeron can get the players AND fans to an emotional level where they are ready to raid Fort Knox. Moorhead just looks like a sad sack half the time and during the game he's too busy looking at his play card like a clueless dork.

The program status

I've never seen the program this difficult to pull for. It's at the most frustrating level it has ever been for me.

I know the football program has been at much lower points in terms of year to year results. But this year, it's frustrating because we've seen this program build the last decade. And in two short years, it is at risk. We play below our talent level and light up a statistical chart as an extreme outlier in terrible ways. We gave up 8 touchdowns in 11 games last year and lost 3 (exclude bama). Has that happened since 1970?

The basketball program is still recovering from apathy. Don't let it happen to football.

There's some truth to that. Some non truths.

We hired him to move the offense to an RPO and to open things up more. He's not going to do anything other than transition to that. At the same time, he is the head coach. He is responsible for his product on the field. So as a HC, you do what's required.

If not............... bye

Good for SC. I'm still a hard no on him, based on hearing from some kinesiologists that watched some of the videos they posted, and their opinions of some of the exercises being employed.
