Stevens couldn't get on the field in the Big 10 (even after McSorly left), why did anyone, including JoMo, think he would be good in the SEC? Start KT, run the zone read, and we are an 8 win team.
Zuber was a curious case. He was really good at K State but invisible here. I know the SEC has better defenses but his production shouldn’t have dropped like a rock like that. Another damning example of Moorhead’s shortcomings.
Not to mention Zuber is the exact same player as Deddrick Thomas. But once again, Moorhead is smarter than you and finds HIS players for his offense.
It’s not the transfer portal’s fault. Neither is it TS or Zuber’s fault. Nor was last year’s weak offense Fitz’s fault. It’s on the coach and his offensive scheme.
The transfer portal is only going to become more prevalent (especially at the qb position). We shouldn’t be afraid to give players in it a hard look. Especially given our lack of talent at any of the skill positions, we really need to continue to look at WR’s, RB’s, and TE’s.

The problem is our program not Tommy or Zuber. Tommy isn't a world beater as we just witnessed, but this offense team is going to make everyone look worse than they are. We saw it with Fitz. Did Zuber just forget how to play? Did some of these O Linemen just forget how to block? No, it's a disorganized disaster affecting everyone involved.
I have no problem with the portal, it works for a lot of programs. Of corse, we are Mississippi State and both those players were big bust. I honestly think bringing in TS was a terrible decision by Moorhead tho. We already had enough talented QBs on the roster. I honestly think it may have put a bad taste in the players mouths before the season even started. I guess that’s really easy to say in hindsight after seeing how it did pay out.
Zuber is a great return man too. Credit Moorhead and Joey Jones and lack of coaching for that debacle. I've never seen a kick off return or punt return team less effective than ours this season. Not being able to return the ball past the 15 YARD LINE on a regular basis is about as pitiful as it gets.
Too many holes in the coaching staff. You're a 17'n moron if you think this teams lacks talent to win only 5 or 6 games and using your logic, you think Moorhead is a good coach bc he won 6 games.
We had 4 possible early NFL draft entrants. 2 are for sure gone in Kylin and Dantzler. Erroll gained too much weight bc Joe doesn't believe in S&C and Gay's immaturity cost him as well not to mention the other draft picks we're going to have in D. Williams, B. Cole, Lee Autry.

The more I see Moorhead trot out this offense, the less I place blame on Fitz. The dude had enough talent to attack a defense but Moorhead needs to do things his way.
We're bringing in 2 four star RBs buddy. One is borderline elite. WRs is another story. We have some good ones coming in this year but we usually do they just never develop.

how do we know? Brad Cumbest could be an awesome TE but have any of our TE's been targeted in this offense?
I think we can all agree on the coaching piece. But we’ve had landed highly touted 4 star rb’s in the past (Robert Elliot, Ashton Shumpert). When was the last time we’ve had a freshman rb come in and contribute immediately??? That’s why we need to at least look at rb’s in the portal.
Well Spivey can't catch. He dropped an easy TD pass at Auburn and nearly dropped an easy one last night. Farrod Green is has tons of drops too. Dontae Jones makes 1 handed catches against ULL type teams then disappears.
We have some good looking athletes at TE, but they don't product for one reason or another. I'm sure it's the play calling though.

So we're replacing them. That's what you're supposed to do. Witherspoon looks like he can be pretty good too.

Your are the 17'n moron. At least that is what I hear on here. I didn't say a word about Moorhead and his coaching. I could have coached this team to the same result as he did. So no I think he should be gone but unlucky for us he'll be here next year. Now go 17 yourself moron!
