Probably not the coaching change we were hoping for, but I don’t think he was ever expected to stay very long.

Good luck to him. Although it sucks being poached from, I still think it’s not a bad look and indicates a healthy program which is attractive to good coaches. Very admirable he stayed through early signing period.

Don’t think losing him means hurts.

With our pay scale, we can expect every good assistant to leave soon.

Wtf is going on at our athletic department? It’s after signing day and Joey Jones and Cory Bichey are still employed in their current capacity. This isn’t hyperbole...our frugality is embarrassing. What kind of message does that send to coaches with talent and a bright future? Get some people that know what they are doing and when we have identified talent, pay them market value to keep their efforts pushing MSU to be better. If they leave, it’s out of our hands.

You aren't going to see us move on from coaches until after the bowl game. Which I think is crap. If our assistants are leaving already for other jobs, why can't we move on from our coaches and go ahead and get really good position coaches.

But baseball isn't going cheap...

Nobody knows what a lot of these guys are getting from private money. Shoop for example would be long gone if he were really only making 600k per year

So either we're the only school in the country that doesn't include private money, or we're the only school in the country that pays private money to coaches then? I don't buy that at all. Cohen is going to Templeton this football program if he's not careful.

I'm OK with waiting till after the bowl game to fire coaches. What really matters is which ones we fire, not whether we did it on Dec 3 or Jan 3.

Rumor is that Shoop agreed to take a smaller salary in 2018 because any salary he made would only offset the Tennessee buyout amount & he kinda wanted to 17 Tennessee financially then his salary was increased significantly in 2019. If that is the case, the reported salary number for him is probably the 2018 number

Mullen never made staff changes until after the bowls & he usually encouraged selected staff members to find another job. I remember clearly an announcement being made just prior to the Gator Bowl that Chris Wilson would no longer be calling plays on defense & about a week later he took another job.

Moorhead is absolute moron if Joey Jones is still on our staff for Spring Practice.

When it comes to patdog and Cohen, the details/facts just don't matter. I doubt he's even admitted that he was wrong on Cohen as a baseball coach.

I believe that is correct re: Shoop. He's not one of the coaches who are the problem though.

FYI, there’s a big push right now from former players to hire Jamar Chaney as Marve’s replacement. I’m down with that.
