The LSU thread got me thinking who my 2nd favorite college team is. I probably say A&M because I got to know many fans when I was a camp counselor in Texas. Yes, they are weird, but even when they win, I don't find them too arrogant.

Since moving up north, I have tried becoming a Syracuse fan, but I can't get past the final four loss to them. Maybe University of Buffalo.

What's your second favorite team?

I grew up in Nola, so LSU for me. Glad they are doing well with Coach O!

I became a State fan when attending MSU for MBA and they are #1!

Washington State. I like Mike Leach, but I know he would not be a good fit for MSU.

I became a Clemson fan in 81 when Danny Ford took them to the title.

I dont have one.

I was a sidewalk fan of another team or two before I went to state but since then...nah. I'm maroon to the core.

I will say that I'm a sports fan and will attend games (including bowls) that don't involve msu.

UGA for me. Use to be Auburn until the Newton fiasco and now I hope they lose every game but one every year.

I don’t really have second team that I go out of the way or spend money to see. MSU all the way. But while in grade school, growing up in Jackson and the MS Gulf Coast, my dad a MSU graduate and my mother being a LSUX grad I always thought of LSU sorta like a second team. Until I went to school at MSU and attended a couple of games at LSU and saw how god awful their drunken obnoxious fans were cured me of “ever” pulling for them anytime. Their fans can go straight to hell!

I married into a die hard Clemson family. So I’ve grown to like them. Their campus is incredible with it being in the upstate of SC and the school is very similar to us. Their fans are tolerable also because they are very grateful for where they’re at now. Wasn’t long ago when they were just hoping for an 8 win season and beating South Carolina.

I'm a fan of any team playing Alabama or Ole Miss.

I follow Texas and Baylor since I'm in the area but that's mainly for Big 12 games. I don't lose any sleep over the games.

I really am not a fan of any other college team.

Now in the NFL, I'm a fan of Chicago first, then Dak, and then New England.

I’ll second that, but I went to grad school there. I spent enough money on that piece of paper to claim these recent Nattys.

I don’t think I really have a second team but If I had to pick one it would be Florida. I grew up in Tampa, so I have several friends that went to Florida. I only filled out 2 college applications, one to state and one to Florida. I have several family ties to state and Mississippi state baseball made it a no brainer to me to pick state.

Penn State--I went to grad school there. They won the MNC my first year there...

As a State fan and a Penn State fan, I was ecstatic at State getting Moorhead and Stevens. I supported Moorhead until the Tennessee game, but since then we have seen Tennessee was better than everyone thought and Moorhead has faced tougher defenses and the two toughest schedules since 2009.

After the Egg Bowl, I would have been ok with Moorhead leaving or even firing him but only if we could get a good replacement. Now that we're keeping him, I'm going to support him until we start sucking next season. I'd still be ok if we fired him after the bowl game if we could get a good replacement. Not sure if Napier is good enough. He might be, but it's not obvious.

Being a Penn State fan was fun until the Sandusky scandal. Went to a game or two in State College nearly every season from 2001 until the scandal. Still a fan, though, and went to a game up there two years ago and again last month. James Franklin has recruited well and won a lot of games at Penn State, so that's encouraging.

Notre Dame. Tony Rice is still my all time favorite non State football player of all time. So many guys from the late 80’s Holtz teams i loved. Then Bob Davies killed their program and any damn i gave about them winning and losing.

I lived in Harrisburg until 2006. I was able to go to a game in 2000 that my girlfriend (now my wife) took me too. It was Drew Bresus last year at Purdue. The game was at State College. Penn State won the game but Brees had an incredible day and almost beat them. Ironically, that same day, MState beat Florida in Starkville. It was cool listening as they announced the score and Mstate has beaten number 3 Florida. I had actually wore a MS State sweatshirt that day and received many positive comments after the upset was announced. It was fun times. It was a hyped crowd during the game for sure.

B-b-b-bama, only cause of family, and been that way all my life. But I will say it's nice to see them not in the playoffs for a change. While they are number 2 for me, they make me want to puke at the same time.

I'm maroon to the core but I grew up across the river from Louisiana. I drank A LOT of beer at PJ's in HS and college and have family from LA so if I have a 2nd favorite team it's LSU. I don't own any LSU clothing and won't because I went to school at MSU not LSU but if State can't win it I'll pull for Tigas...

I'm with you. I got my Law Degree from Alabama and really enjoyed my time there. I have always wanted State to beat them, but it was fun pulling for them in the 90s. I really cannot stand Saban, though, so I basically no longer have a #2 team.

I have no second favorite team now however, back in the eighties bama was my second favorite team. Then I started going to talladega every year starting in the early nineties and there were ignorant inbred bama fans there everywhere and that alone made me dislike that program and have every since.

Used to be Florida. Then Strick and Mullen went there. Possibly Virginia Tech or Memphis now.

Growing up it was Nebraska while Tom Osborne was their coach. Loved their offense. Faded after he left.

For the last several years it was a Paul Johnson led Georgia Tech team. Loved their offense.

Now I don’t have one.

SC. I used to like TAMU until they joined the SEC. they tend to be like ole miss fans. They have a entitlement but nothing really to back it up in modern era.

Always kinda had a soft spot for Memphis (State), my grandfather got a football scholarship to play for Memphis but he hurt a knee at the end of his sophomore season at Northeast. He was always a Memphis State fan after that. He would have really enjoyed this season.
