That Tyler Horka reported that Lane Kiffin knows how important the Egg Bowl is without getting an actual quote that Lane Kiffin knows how important the Egg Bowl is. Yes, Ben....the guy who laughed at you on twitter 2 weeks ago for losing the game by fake pissing knows that game cost the former coach his job and also knows that the game is really important. Every time I think their actual media (not fans) can’t be any dumber they prove me wrong. I honestly don’t understand how one school has that many retarded beat writers covering them. You would think that the law of averages would work out eventually.

ETA: I have no idea how to imbed a tweet.

Don't have a clue who "Ben" actually is but he strikes me as being this 5'1" spunky garden gnome that is being eaten alive by "little man's disease" and has to act big to make up for his vertically challenged status. What's his deal?

I couldn't give a **** about whatever it is you're talking about, but if you think Luke's firing had more to do with us losing the Egg Bowl to a more talented team than the international embarrassment we incurred while doing it, I dont know what to tell you.

Matt Luke was fired because the Egg Bowl was lost. His player did the exact same celebration 2 years ago and your entire fanbase sucked the guy’s dick. It was embarrassing because it cost you the game. No one in your fan base actually cares that the celebration is a 17’ing embarrassment on it’s own merit. It took losing the game while doing it to become embarrassing.

My problem is our actual fan beat writers wouldn’t step foot in the building much less ask a question about us. That was a rag of a paper in Jackson trying to get clicks. Wrote by a writer who claims to be our beat writer while being a fan of a Texas school. Not hard to figure out the motives

He got a raise the last time it happened

He got fired after it happened this time. What was different? He lost this time, thus he was fired because he lost the game, not because of the “international embarrassment”. It was just as embarrassing last time, but y’all were too drunk on the victory to notice. But you are welcome to keep acting like it’s just another game.

I’m not mad, nor do I care what’s written about Kiffin. I also haven’t read Horka’s article, in full disclosure, but I did hear Kiffin’s response to his question at introductory press conference and he certainly didn’t say anything that would provide content for an article on him understanding the importance of the Egg Bowl. Which, speaking of... I don’t think he does understand it. I mean if we are being honest. But he will learn.. it’s most definitely important.

What was different? I dont know, having it happen for a second time, while going 4-8, after going 5-7? None of those three things had happened when DK pissed on your defense.

You just kept a coach 90% of this board wanted fired because he squeaked out a win against a **** team, but yeah, we made our decision simply because Luke lost that game and that's such a WAOM thing and only a WAOM thing.

I highly doubt the money is there to buy Luke out if EM doesnt go full retard but the kicker misses the XP anyway, but that's all speculation. Believe what you want.

It's obviously not just another game but it takes money to fire a coach. By your logic we would've fired him after he lost to MSU by 5 possessions at home last year.

Only because there wasnt video of him calling the guy a **** ******. He definitely deserved to be fired if that cab drivers story was true.

I didn’t read the article and won’t but there is no reason for a writer covering us to ask that question or even be there. He’s a fan of a Texas school there to get clicks and stir **** for a paper he’ll bent on making this rivalry more toxic than it already is.

The funny thing is I bet they didn’t screw up any headlines

Kiffin has coached in the SEC. He took shots at Florida immediately after being hired at Tennessee. He put up a billboard trashing UCLA after being hired at USC. He has probably grown up some since then but to suggest he does not know how big an instate rivalry in the SEC is just screams ignorance.

You literally hired Matt Luke for winning the Egg Bowl and that was right after Metcalf did the same 17’ing celebration. And yea, we all wanted Moorhead fired and we all can admit that we are keeping him because our terrible athletic administration values beating a ****** Ole Miss team by 1 point because of a celebration penalty over the overall direction of the program. The difference is that we can tell people this and you people act the way you are currently acting about the situation. If the extra point is made and you win the game, Luke is still your coach. To believe otherwise is living in an alternate universe.

Hell I hope he starts talking **** but no reason for the paper to send a beat writer who supposedly covers us to that press conference and ask that. He isn’t a fan of us. He covers us and trying to stir **** to get views. Then the dumbasses from Mississippi make it like it’s our fanbase. Damn that paper.

If what you're saying is true we would've fired him after losing 35-3 at home last year.

If we win the game we are 5-7 and may sneak into a **** bowl like you did a couple years ago. He doesnt get fired in that scenario.

Y’all are arguing with Mississippi fans because of what a guy who covers State ask a question that offended their fan beat writers. Where were our fan beat writers? Well of course at home because we don’t cover another coaches introductory press conference.
This was set up to stir **** by a almost defunct paper for views. Hobby Lobby.

Y'all are at least reading the excerpt Big Ben Garrett pointed out right? I mean OM fans are losing it over nothing if literally the part Big Ben is singling out is "it." I don't know the context of the whole article, but Big Ben shared a 2-3 sentence excerpt of the article to make his point and OM fans are being the absolute douchiest people I've ever seen over nothing. A new level of douche even for Ole Miss. How the hell would they react if the CL covered them like they cover us? Good grief.

Horka said. "Lane Kiffin knows how important the Egg Bowl rivalry is to his tenure." Isn't that an obvious 17'n thing to say? I think so. Lane Kiffin doesn't have to say it for us to know that right?

This post is a perfect example of a simple and efficient beat down. Facts that can't be disputed.

You can be a beat writer and a very good one without being a fan.
I totally agree but I will say he probably proved he isn’t one showing up at that event asking that question. They have a beat writer for Mississippi covering that event. They talk he should ask that question. That was a paper trying to stir ****.

Luke wasn’t fired because he lost the game, everyone with a brain assumed they were going to lose. It shouldn’t have even been close. Luke wasn’t fired because the kid pissed in the end zone, he probably knew it was going to happen prior to the game. All the players gathered around him waiting for him to do it. It was preplanned and likely openly discussed in the locker room. Luke was fired because the timing of the event embarrassed the bastion of self worth and image. Had the media not picked up on it due to the Egg Bowl being the only NCAA game on and it just been a few seconds on Sportscenter, Luke would still be coach at Ole Miss. All they care about is image because image is all they have left.

If Croom wins the 45-0 beatdown he probably doesn't get fired either. If that's a close game he probably doesn't get fired. I dont think either of us ever fire good coaches with good records over losing the Egg Bowl, but getting embarrassed while doing so gets ****** coaches with ****** records canned.

Yea, we know.....average coaches get fired for losing the Egg Bowl. The difference is your fan based media is getting their panties in a wad over someone reporting the obvious.

And his boss a writer that covers Mississippi. Why was he there and why was our so called beat writer the one who ask it instead of theirs?? Seriously you don’t get that?

Whether he should have been there at all is debatable. Point is if your boss tells you to go get a story you do it. The article he wrote was honestly pretty flattering to Ole Miss. the fact that they are the ones upset is mind blowing.

Do you think he gets fired if the team is disciplined, the XP is made, and we lose in OT?

If the answer is 'No,' which is what I think, then the lack of discipline and embarrassment are what cost him his job. I dont think the money was there to fire him otherwise.

I didn't want him fired until what went down at the end of the game went down. That was the perfect example of him failing at what was essentially his only job, discipline, because he sure as **** wasnt coordinating the offense or defense. That showed he had learned nothing from two years ago and the fact that he stuck Elijah out there for the onside kick was proof he never would learn **** or discipline the team.

Youre right about the fans and Ben, but I disagree the loss itself is what did him in.
