The poster named Original48 passed away last night. One of the nicest guys I’ve ever known.

Keep his family (wife and 2 daughters) in your prayers. This one is hitting close to home for many.

He will be missed. A good contributor and a true SPS'er.

Loved this guy. Great teammate and the funniest guy I ever met. Most importantly a great friend. You’ll be missed.

Ugh. Strange how we feel a loss when we lose a contributor on this board, even if some of us have never met them. I'm surely sorry for those who knew him personally...I know he'll be missed.

Terrible news. Met him a couple of times years ago, and agree that he was a very nice guy. Praying for his family.

He’ll be missed. Really enjoyed hanging out and playing ball with him. It definitely isn’t fair to lose someone this young.

An FYI - he was also the author of the infamous Pubdate.

I spoke to Nancy Black (Stan's widow) at church yesterday morning and just felt really bad for her in the holidays without Stan again. Michael was at his normal place in the choir as he was almost every week. I am heart broken for his beautiful family. Now we've lost two great young men, husbands, fathers and Bulldogs from Madison UMC within 18 months. This is a tough pill to swallow.

"Half way through the second time riding It's a Small World, I mentally started going over my to do list for when I got home - first of which was to shut the garage and get into my car and crank it."

Classic. RIP.

I have not posted here in a while. Some of you know me, some of you don’t. Mike Galatas will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him, that met him, and/or had the pleasure of calling him a friend. My family and Mike’s family have been close for years, and I cannot begin to explain the shock and the complete sadness his wife and 2 daughters are experiencing right now. I ask all of you to please keep the Galatas family in your thoughts and prayers. God bless and Hailstate to you Mike!!!

I've never laughed harder than at you two telling Felker-era stories.

Many good times. Still can't believe this.

The church was telling people this afternoon that he went to sleep last night and never woke . Also said an autopsy was being performed. He looked about as fit a 50 year old can look. Just hard to believe.

That’s awful. A good friend’s dad also passed away earlier this week and he was a proud bulldog.

You are right about MUMC loosing some great men. It will be different looking up at the choir and not seeing Mike there this Sunday. Mike was a larger than life personality and will be missed by everyone that ever met him. I have read six pack for years and never found a reason to put my 2 cents in but had to say how good of a man and bulldog Mike was so finally got a login. Praying for his family, church family and friends... only consolation is I know he was a true man of God. My wife and I talked tonight about the times he and his daughters would sing at church, truly talented family.

Asa heart scare survivor, if you are over 40 go at least get a nuclear calcium test. They are pretty inexpensive.

Mike has been a coworker and friend for almost 14 years. He was a true maroon brother. We are heart broken and it's been difficult today to wrap our brains around it. Just a terrible loss for everyone today. Prayers to his wife and 2 girls. Godspeed Toast. You will be missed...
