For all of you who have attempted to make yourself feel better by comparing Joe to Mullen as some sort of equal is as laughable as Cohen keeping Joe another year...Mullen took over a program that was at the bottom of the SEC and a program who only had success in it's ENTIRE history with a brief stretch in the late 90's. Arguably the hardest place to recruit and coach, Mullen on his own recruited his players and took our program to number one in the country. How soon we forget! Mullen is the best coach that has ever coached at Miss. State and it's not even close. Just take a look at who he put in the NFL and many were 1-2 star recruits out of high school. Joe hasn't accomplished anything and this year actually did more to embarrass our program than anything else. I know we are keeping him another year but it's just a matter of time. The lack of forward thinking with no alcohol sales in the future, I have little hope until Cohen is also replaced. Hopefully sooner than later.....After what has transpired within the last month, I don't trust Cohen to get the job done...

How’d that number 1 ranking turn out?

I’m so sick of that being Mullens great accomplishment....

Who TF did he beat that year? He COULD NOT beat the teams that mattered.

He’s such a great coach, HOW MANY W’s did he have against Bama??? He couldn’t beat 17ing Ole Miss that year!

Don’t get me wrong it’s AWESOME that we can say we are the first team in NCAA to be ranked first in the new play off system but that is almost the equivalent of Ole Miss bragging about their recruiting rankings.

The reaction, we’ll lack of reaction, when Ole Miss broke Nick’s ankle ruined any credit I had for Mullen. That ******* had already packed his bags and could give 2 17’s about that team, yet he’s the greatest thing we’ve ever had.

Sorry, rant over.

If we had him, we would have at least 4 more wins over the last two years and that is not insignificant.

That's all you got? Who else beat Bama? Nobody beat Bama outside of Clemson, OM and Auburn during that stretch. Heck they've only lost like three games at home in how many years...? I'm not judging off of just one year (2014) but we were without a doubt the best team in the country early in the year. We lacked depth and that hurt us late in our schedule...If you aren't able to see the difference with the product Mullen put on the field compared to Jomo, then I don't know what to tell you....Go back and watch some of our games dating back to 2010, the effort we played with compared to what we do now is night and day.....Mullen has also beat Florida, Michigan, Auburn, Texas AM, LSU in BR, Ole Miss, pretty much every SEC team outside of Bama...Let me say that again...LSU in BR something that hasn't been done since the cold war ended.....

I'm just tired of talking about Mullen. He dumped us two years ago. JoMo sucks... but we've got to move on.

I agree, but there are those on the board that want to compare the two to justify in some warped reality that they have achieved the same success at Miss. State...

It is a joke comparing Moorhead to Mullen. Time will further separate the two and we are all the big losers because of it.

We have turned the MSU program Mullen took over into a mythical rag-tag group of 9 year old girls. The program Mullen walked into was miles better than the one Croom found.

Joe had three players go in the first round of the NFL Draft.

You say he inherited those players? Mullen inherited several NFL players from Croom, too. Some were already on the team and some were committed to Croom and Mullen kept them.

I'll repeat my posts from last week to rebut this fallacy:

Mullen wouldn't have won at UK or LSU last year. Maybe at UT, but UT started playing better, played at Bama close, and has won 5 in a row. Maybe Mullen beats UF at home, but UF finished Top 10 and Mullen never beat a team that finished higher than #18. BTW, Moorhead beat Texas A&M last year which finished #16. UK, UF, and UT (and 2019 Kansas State compared to 2018 )
were all better than expected.

Moorhead has faced tougher schedules than Mullen, especially Mullen's last two seasons.

SOS per Sagarin and overall record
2009 #1 (5-7)
2010 #30 (9-4)
2011 #28 (7-6)
2012 #49 (8-5)
2013 #15 (7-6)
2014 #17 (10-3)
2015 #24 (9-4)
2016 #55 (6-7)
2017 #46 (9-4)

2018 #11 (8-5)
2019 #8 (6-6)

>>>>And in response to "State was better than UF and UK last year":

No. No. No. No. No. Not only were both better UK and UF than State, 2018 UF finished higher ranked than State EVER has and UK finished about the same as State's best ranking ever (other than 1940).

For arguments sake, if Moorhead did beat UK and/or UF, then they would only have 9 wins. How many 9-win SEC teams did Mullen beat in 9 years? LSU 2017 and OM 2009. Two in 9 years, and none with NFL Rookie-of-the-Year QB Dak Prescott. In 9 seasons, Mullen never beat a team that finished ranked higher than #18. Moorhead beat Texas A&M in 2018, who won 9 games and finished ranked #16.

2018 UK, 2018 UF, 2019 UT, and 2019 Kansas State (compared to 2018 KSU) were all better than everyone thought. See my SOS post above-Moorhead had tougher schedules last year and this year than every Mullen year except 2009. MUCH tougher than in 2016 and 2017.

You are inferring that Moorhead made those 3 players into 1st rounders?

No, Moorhead inheritied those players. It was in response to "Mullen put a lot of players in the NFL". Mullen didn't recruit all of those, he inherited some. Some post here like Mullen inherited nothing from Croom, and that's not true.

That LSU team lost to Arkansas 17-0 that year. They weren’t that good. So what is your point? We beat a not so great team on the road???

It’s already been pointed out that Moorheads best win trumps Mullens best win.

Has Moorhead underachieved? Absolutely, but the hand wringing and gnashing of teeth makes it look like we’ve went 2-10 the last two years.

If Mullen is so great how come his record his last two years here are exactly the same as Moorhead's even with 9 years to stack his program best he can. Whole bunch of Mullen/Gator cuck fans on this board now.

Maybe I’ve missed something, but what win that Moorhead has trumps Mullens biggest win?

Mullen NEVER beat a team ranked at the end of the season above #18.

The A&M team that Moorhead beat last year ended up ranked #16.

I mean, facts are facts guys

I think Mullen would have scored more than 16 points in the games we lost in 18.

You mean they weren’t national champeenchip contenders year in and out under Dan?

If Dan wasn't job hunting every November, he would have raised the ceiling even higher (or the floor, as it were). than he did.

It's not that Mullen never beat Alabama. It's how bad and unprepared we looked. Oh wait, that's what you said about Moorhead.
