Have your expectations grown after a pretty good start? I’m liking where we are at this point. Think we have a chance to be 11-1 heading into conference play. 18 game schedule with Oklahoma as our opponent in SEC/Big 12 matchup. 13-6 maybe 14-5 are my hopeful expectations.
What say y’all?
Love the start, effort and players meshing for the first time in a while. Let’s get behind these guys!

My expectations grew after seeing how hard our guys get after it and seeing them play unselfish basketball. It’s been a long time since we have had both. I’m actually enjoying watching this team play.

I was hopeful after last year but my expectations have grown after seeing a bunch of players become a team thus far. I realize that can change but I love the teamwork and intensity they have shown lately.
My concern is complacency at the start of each half. We are good but effort needs to be there consistently. I understand that doesn’t always happen that’s why I see at least 5-6 losses in conference. Hope it’s not more. Love when we play basketball wellat State

I like to see the hustle and defense that the team has shown. I also like the fact that we have 3 legacy players leading the team. It would have been really good to have gotten the 4th legacy (George Brooks' son). He is doing pretty well for UNC.

Yes!
I honestly thought we had a chance to be better than last year, but still surprised by this team.
I've said it before but that last generation of players were our transition generation. When they signed with MSU, we had no pulse. They brought us back to life.
However, these are the guys that are going to take it farther.

Lot of ball to play but if we can win 4 of 5 or all 5 we are looking at a chance of the Hump rocking again. This team in the next month has a chance to bring a fanbase back if they continue with this effort.

The biggest problem we have in all our sports is complacency. We as a fan base demand a fight from our teams in all sports. We love winning but we expect a spirit and fight from all our players when they step between the lines.

I know the players want a crowd and they will get it if they continue to play hard and intense. Hell the biggest argument in all sports is when we don’t show up and battle. I hope this is the team that sends a message our women have been sending for the last few years. I

4 of 5 or all 5 in December. Fat fingers and a couple of Natty Lights caused that error!!

MSU will be a major player this season. Hope the Nick factor is smooth yet with the way Molinar is playing, hard to bench him.

Have to point out though the fact we have NO votes at all this week, that's almost criminal despite rankings not mattering too much right now. MSU would slaughter most of the teams getting votes and those ranked up/including in the teens. Villanova was ranked when they barely beat MSU and then lost their second game (record 5-2) and are still ranked due to their bball namesake.

The main reason I prefer the Bulldogs to be ranked, is media coverage. Can only take so much UofL bball to watch. Ha. Speaking of which, when watching other teams ranked high (like new #1 UofL), it is obvious MSU would match up very well with most of the elite teams this year. MSU has size, athleticism, grit, and good coaching.

Imagine Garrison Brooks on this team. He is averaging 34 minutes, 13 points, and 8 rebounds per game for UNC. Our lineup would be:

PG Nick Spoon
SG Tyson Carter
SF Robert Woodard
PF Reggie Perry
PF/C Garrison Brooks

You’d have Molinar, Stewart, and Ado as the primary rotation off the bench. Feazell and Oduro playing as needed. That is a ridiculous lineup. I’ve watched a lot of SEC basketball so far this year, and based on what I’ve seen no one could come close to matching that front court.

Yep, really a shame what happened there. Issue we have with Ado at Center is just that he give us practically nothing on the offensive end. Very good on the defensive end.

During one of our recent games we went through a stretch in the game where the guys were making one more pass to get a better shot for the team. I remember Perry having an open mid range jumper, but he faked and passed it off for a dunk. Even my wife was noticing the way they are passing more and running more than they used to.

We just need to take care of the ball better. That's why I was asking when Nick would be back. I hope he is hungry after having to watch for 20 games. We need his ball handing and defensive skills. Any offense he produces is just a bonus.

Our effort is better. We play as a team better. We are extremely long and athletic... and that kind of team will do better on the road, as defense travels.

My concern is certainly offense and we've shown that we're prone to long scoring droughts. Assuming Howland can maximize the efficiency of his rotations, we should be looking at another 5 seed or so come March. I'm very excited about this team.

It’s been a roller coaster for me. I projected them to miss the NCAA tourney before the season, I thought they’d be a fringe NIT team after 3 games, and now I see them landing solidly in the dance. Maybe I’ve been looking at fools gold lately, but they really seemed to have started gelling way ahead of schedule

I’m still not certain that this team has a legit star, but they remind me of a Detroit Pistons lunch pail kind of team, and they’ve got a lot of kids that are willing to put in the work required to win. If Nick comes in and helps us with defense and turnovers, look out

Back to this thread. I think this team will be fine especially once Nick gets back. I’m looking forward to seeing him with this team in Jackson.

Tonight was really tough. They simply played a really bad game, and LA Tech was shooting lights out. I think we will recover well, and hopefully beat KSU next Saturday and get back on track. I think when the season is done we will be solidly in the NCAAT.

I think if you talked to anyone who is actually following this team, they'd have expected 2 losses through the NC season. Maybe 3 and I think States right on track to only have 2.

This wasn't a bad team at all we played tonight. $h!+ Happens in college basketball.
