Translation - he was extended for 1 additional year (4 total) with a a smaller buyout than he has currently.

Rosey can have fun covering games in front of 30,000 fans next year.

I for one, bought my last season tickets. Aside from the headache of it all, I can’t give another dime to a program with no commitment to winning. MSU = Ole Miss’ little brother. This proves it. A job is secured by a win over a 4-8 team. Pathetic.

Well if true, what a horrible reason to retain/extend someone. Complete loss of situational awareness, letting a 1 point, gifted victory over a 4 win Ole Miss team be the benchmark for retaining a coach.

We are and will always be lil ole Em Ess Yew.

Really could’ve done without the second line from Steve’s post. Bringing Moorhead back for 2020 is one thing, but giving any indication that the administration is “pleased” is just pitiful

If Cohen or anyone else is pleased with the effort, then apparently we should all just know our place in the world because our decision makers are clearly satisfied with mediocrity

Exactly right. A caveat should have been added that a 1 point win over a 4-8 team was secured by the most boneheaded penalty in football history.

So 17ing dumb. If ole miss is still the measuring stick then this horseshit they spew about championships and taking the next step is nothing but horseshit good luck being less then mediocre. Y’all have fun spending your money on the football program. I for one will not. Oh snd enjoy getting beat and embarrassed in another bowl game.

So they were please over us beating a 4-8 team by 1 point.... while still putting together a terrible offense.

Yep, our offensive guru’s 318 yd explosion against the league’s 3rd worst defense was all they needed to see.

Hey, anyone remember Joe’s vow to us that we’d have a 500 yard receiver this year? Well forget that... we didn’t even have one get to 400.

Just look at the flowers, dawg fans

Like it or hate it, he’s your coach for another year. Nobody will force you to go to games or give money to the program, but I would encourage you to at least be open minded enough to give the guy a chance to prove you wrong. We should win 7 or 8 with that schedule, and if we don’t then you’ll get your wish and he will be fired. But let’s just see how it plays out.

Whether we were keeping him or firing him a week from now, either way this type of leak would come out to settle things in the short term. Long story short, it doesn’t mean anything.

Win 6 and he will get another extension. That's the standard here.

To me 6-6 in Year 3 is different from 6-6 in Year 2 where you also had tutorgate and a bunch of injuries. If we walk out of Oxford next Thanksgiving with six wins or fewer, I believe we should make a change.

Give him another chance!?!? Damn!! He had his chance this year. He should have won at the minimum 7 games this year too but he didn’t. Spare me the tutor gate crap. As has been said ten thousand times his offense has been **** for the whole time he’s been here and it AINT getting any better!

This is exactly my stance. I will not want Joe to fail just so I can be proven right. I always want us to win and hope he and Cohen price is wrong.

BUT, if we do win 6 or less next year then Cohen and Joe will be shown the door together.

I'd put more weight on the Tutorgate excuse if defense was truly our problem this year. While the defense wasn't stellar, offense continues to be an issue with no sign that we're going to round the corner.

You and me both. Truth is if he can't figure out how to keep the pass rush of decent teams at bay, we'll have to win with defense. His offense looks good against little to no pass rush though. I do like Shrader, kid is slippery with nerves of steel.

I said yesterday....if we end up keeping Moorhead because Elijah Moore took a piss in the end zone then we deserve all of the ridicule and mockery everyone throws our way. And Ole Miss fans are correct...we value beating them over building a sustained successful football program. Ole Miss was a laughing stock yesterday. Today it’s our turn. I really hope John Cohen reads this. You just lost the fan base, bud. Good luck getting money for your IPF. Good luck getting money for anything football related. You have out-tinkled Ole Miss, and you’ve out-tinkled Lonnie Tinkle. You are the worst athletic director in my lifetime.

We are officially keeping a coach because he fluked into an Egg Bowl win by one point over a 4-8 team at home, because their receiver pretended to take a piss in the end zone.

If you wanted to keep him because you genuinely believe in the direction of the program, then fine just say so. I wouldn’t necessarily agree with it but I would respect it. To say that we are keeping our coach because you are proud of the effort in the Egg Bowl against a god awful team is a 17ing joke. We are no better than Ole Miss when they hired Matt Luke after he won his one fluke game. It’s pathetic. Fans of Arkansas, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, etc. should be rejoicing right now- and sending Elijah Moore flowers and a bottle of champagne.

If this doesn’t work next year, we will be looking for more than just a new head football coach... Or at least we should be. Please prove me wrong Joe, but I fully expect to once again get skulldrug all over the field by anyone with a pulse. Not just Bama and LSU, but Auburn, A&M, possibly Missouri too. Joe I am pulling for you and am not dropping my support but by god if we look incompetent again offensively next year against decent defenses, I am 17ing done.

I would hope so but I doubt it. Even though he irritated me to death at times, I thought we had risen as a program with Dan and never go back to being happy with just beating Ole Miss and being around .500.

Tuturgate cant explain the **** stain of an offense or pregame/dead time penalties or turnstile fatasses on the OL. A lazy inept coach breeds a lazy inept team. We kept him for beating a team reeling from probation? Are you 17ing shitting me?

Everyone had pregame?
I’m still holding out hope he’s gone. Why would we fire him the next day? Don’t do that until the next guy is on the hook, and that won’t happen until his regular season is over. If anything, saying something like this hopefully makes him more desirable to someone else...hopefully.

Our athletic department, and university for that matter, are run like a high school. It’s embarrassing.

I tell you it is a disgusting mess. I'm just embarrassed to be a fan. I have been a fan of this team for 40 years and I have never ever seen such a pathetic team. 6 puny wins, maybe 7 with the bowl ? I have never seen such a crappy team. There is no commitment to win here anymore. And we all know he was getting fired before the game so obviously that was all it was based on. And if that eould have happened differently we could have easily lost. I for one will no longer give the school my large donation or buy tickets. When they show Joe on the sidelines I will close my eyes. I'm so mad I might switch to the radio coverage. Boycott....I say Boycott this program. I'm personally offended by Joe only caring about the players too. What about me ???

Conversely, I think everyone is just breezing by the fact that we had to start a true freshman QB for 75% of our games. Last time we saw someone that you get significant snaps it was RS sophomore Dak in 2013 - when we also went 6-6.

Good attempt at sarcasm, but you forgot the part of him throwing the players under the bus as well with the 85 bears comment. He basically said 6 wins is what you get with the talent he had to work with.
