Has the administration, Cohen, or anyone said Joe will officially be our coach next year? If not, I'm still hoping he's not...

Why would he put anything out? Cohen, like Moorhead, probably thinks we are all crazy and that they know better. It’s likely not crossed his mind.

I don’t really agree, but just saying that’s their thought process. And for the record, Templeton and Croom thought the same things.

Cohen has had plenty of opportunities to confirm Joe is coming back, but he hasn’t done that. I don’t think it is 100% certain one way or another yet. Very bizarre situation.

You heard the presser, man. He’s coming back and I don’t think there was ever a seconds thought about it in the AD office.

Cohen thinks he knows more than the fans. He better hope and pray he’s right about it all. He was in baseball, but again, running an AD is not like running a baseball program.

If you know a change is coming get it done. My fear was we would make a change after a loss. Our decision shouldn’t be based off a loss to Mississippi. In fact that says they matter. Make the change after a win and let everyone know in college football we base our decisions on a season not a game.
We are better than that

Well he was sticking it to Cohen in that presser as well as the fans. Maybe I'm wrong big time, I'm hoping he's not here next year..

There’s obviously some sort of internal struggle, and nothing has been settled at this point. Cohen would have said something by now, if JM is definitely staying. The best we can hope for is that the administration is waiting until after the games tomorrow to announce the firing to keep it under the national radar as much as possible. Firing a coach who made back to back bowl games doesn’t look good if you don’t know the specifics.

The Moorhead presser?

Like when Rick Ray told the Clarion Ledger he was getting a 4th year?

We didn't go with Henderson when he took us to a CWS.

One might say that was the baseball equivalent of this. Even though beating a 4 win ole miss team off of a fluke extra point just to be one of 60% of CFB by barely making a bowl isn't that at all.....

If something Rutgers wise is still in the picture, probably nothing will be announced until trigger is pulled or it's a dud. That way it could be a win/win. That would be best scenario.

Why would he announce that the status quo is staying the status quo? You only make announcements when things change. You don’t make them when things are staying the same.

How about Bob from Bovina and then whining to the press an MSU fan telling him he sucks in front of his daughter ? Not what you hear from a guy who needs the fan base behind him. Let's face it Cohen bent over and assumed the position, Joe got way more money than he's worth, knows he's in over his head but knows the money is guaranteed no matter who he pisses off. You hire crap you get crap.

You CANNOT fire the guy after 6-6 plus an Egg Bowl win unless you absolutely 100% already have the next guy already lined up. And even in that case, you don’t pull the trigger until the next guy is available. Norvell, Fickell, and Napier all have conference championship games next weekend and games this weekend. Hudspeth has the FCS playoffs coming up. Other guys have games on Saturday (Clawson, Satterfield, etc.).

This is not a hard concept. Just because he wasn’t fired (or out on his own accord) less than 24 hours after Game 12 doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Doesn’t mean it will, either. It will probably be Monday at the earliest and possibly up to a week after that before we know anything for sure. Think back to Rick Ray, who was fired 10 days after the season was over after we initially gave him a public endorsement that he was returning for a 4th year. If we get rid of Joe, it will go down the same way.

Here are some things to think about:
1. After Joe’s presser there is no way Cohen and Keemun can keep him. That was a well orchestrated way to give State a big FU, try and save face, and possibly get more buyout.
2. Why announce the very next day after the win that he is gone? If he is staying, why come out and say he is staying, and tag him him as a lame duck for recruiting purposes against us? That will happen either way.
3. Wouldn’t one assume that coach in waiting has a game left to be played, and said coach could have his agent and such working on a contract and any buyouts with current school first?

Let’s all just chill for a few days and realize things will play out by Monday either way.
