A whole lot of what you guys have said about our coach has been "un-called for." Nobody is satisfied at this point, but there are way too many pathetic whiners looking for a reason to spew vitriol. Hell, one of you even blamed the coach when the punter dropped the snap and then chose to run the ball rather than kick it. You guys are always deriding people whom you deem too sensitive. Look in the 17in mirror. Your feelings are hurt. It started with seriously delusional expectations about last year's team. You guys howl against the sunshine pumpers, but there was a hell of a lot of that going on here early last season. (Yes, Joe encouraged it.) There were more SEC caliber athletes on last year's team than we have had in a while. You guys thought that guaranteed us 10 wins. You talk about how tough the SEC West is, but you refused to take that into consideration. It is tough because the number of SEC caliber athletes on that team ranked behind Alabama, LSU, Auburn and probably A&M (and Georgia, Florida and maybe Tennessee in the East). We all had reason to hope for a really good season last year, but we didn't know what we had at wide receiver, we had no reason to feel great about our offensive line, and we hoped Nick had become a better passer, without considering that he had spent the off-season rehabbing from a gruesome injury. I'm not saying Joe is a great coach. So far he has not been and there are legitimate reasons for concern about whether he can become one. I understand you want to win now. We don't have enough good, experienced players to do that now, now matter who the coach is. I'm not suggesting that anybody should stop criticizing sloppy play or lack of intensity, but leaven it with a little consideration of reality.
