I don't understand the logic

of making a decision on Joe dependant on the outcome of the EB. He is either someone who can take this program where fans expect it to be or he isn't. Basing the answer to that question on one game is ridiculous or our record. My eyes tell me we have regressed. With the exception of a few, we don't compete. We are soft. Even if we win the EB, how many quality wins will we have? Kentucky? Southern Miss? I believe a change is needed. Hopefully Keenum will step in and right the ship.

I think it's more optics. If we're willing to fire him for an egg bowl loss, then we wanna fire him... just need a good reason

Never is an MSU coach’s fan base support more eroded than after an *** kicking from the black bearz

Because there is a zero percent chance we fire a coach who wins the Egg Bowl and goes to a bowl game, and I think that’s pretty rational.

It wouldn’t be just about the Egg Bowl, but acting like the Egg Bowl doesn’t matter more than every other game on the schedule is ridiculous. To be the HC at MSU, expectations aren’t overly high. But you have to win against inferior teams...especially when you’re at home and especially when it’s Ole Miss. This wouldn’t just be a loss to OM, this would be our first loss to a Power 5 team that finished with a losing record since 2008, and our first loss to a sub-.500 Ole Miss team since 2006. And I can’t even remember when is the last time a sub-.500 OM beat us in Starkville. This is one Joe has to have, plain and simple.

CFB has changed in the last 10 years... Universities can't wait around or give a coach 4-6 years to be successful. There is way too much money to lose on multiple levels if you allow your program to slump. Merchandise, local economy etc...it goes on and on..I hope Cohen , who I like very much, is a forward thinker and can end this after the EGG Bowl , win or lose.

One argument is that we'll be "full strength" for the EB and it's at home. So the excuses fly out the window. I would agree though that this is the second season with Joe where there is plenty of disappointment. I'm not saying we definintely shouldn't can him after this year.

Especially by an OM football program that we should be absolutely stomping in every aspect (on the field and off) right now.

Can't fire a coach at MSU after going to a bowl game.
So, if JoMo goes 4-0 OOC, wins just 2 SEC games (one being OM), barely scrapes into a bowl game, and finishes 6-7 every year, he'll have a job for as long as he wants it? Sell.

The excuses flew out the window after the Tennessee game. There are no excuses.

That’s all Cohen, Moorhead, and Moorhead defenders do is make excuses. Oh and Moorhead thinks we played a good 2nd half even when we sucked.

If we keep Joe based on the EB outcome, we are no different than Ole Miss taking the interim off Luke. One game should not define our program or absolve the issues Joe couldn’t fix throughout the season.

The powers that be will use every excuse in the book to hang on to him at least one more year to avoid the payout. Lost so much talent from last year, tutorgate, injuries, etc.... He will be our coach next year so you all might as well quit worrying yourselves sick over it and accept this will happen for at least one more year

That’s the thing don’t think any one is worried sick. People are starting to checkout though. When people get apathetic like the did with basketball and rick ray then it’s over.

What makes people think you can't fire a coach after a miner bowl game? Look how his system played with a 11 win team last year. Then this years team is awful to watch. If you give him another year, MSU will lose a lot more than just football games.. Win the egg bowl or not, why can't some people see, Joe can not get it done here..

Yeah, who cares if our football program is hemorrhaging and losing ground? Let's keep a coach because he beat a four win Ole Miss team and back-doored into a six win season.

Yep...pretty much. But the chances of him (or any coach) producing those exact results every year in perpetuity are zero. He’s either gonna pop up and win 8/9 or drop down into sub-.500 territory eventually. Given that particular set of circumstances, chances of the latter are more likely. And that’s when you fire him.

You may not like it, but it’s the truth.
