If we can get to 6-6...

I am ready to hold my judgement...

First, I don't think we will go 6-6. I am ready for 4-10, mentally I expect this. This would confirm what myself and apparently everyone on this board expects. I think we loose to Arkansas on the road, which truly becomes the low point of the season and that the Ole Miss game is about 50/50.

However, if we pull out 6-6 this season I ready to hold off my judgement of Moorehead.

Let's face it. This season has been a complete mess for 3 reasons that aren't necessarily his fault.

1) tutorgate - Believe it or not this has probably been going on for years in multiple sports.

2) uncertainty at the QB position - this one is partially his fault, but is largely due to injuries to Tommy Stevens that we have completely lack consistency at the QB position for the entire season. This certainly affected us in several games.

3) an extremely young defense...the defense has improved over the course season...against Texas A&M we were depleted...we were missing Autry, Gay, and Dantzler...some of the freshman made plays, but the consistency isn't there yet. This has more to do with holes that were in the roster before he became coach.

6-6 wouldn't be a terrible season and would still be better than Mullen's worst year...

Flame away...

We had a qb. But because Mr Tags wants to show everyone how fancy his offense is he wasnt going to adjust for Key. And tutorgate didnt impact the offense. They have turned a veteran line into a disaster. Beating three horrible teams wont change that

+1 coach effect

We can end the speculation here. We’re not going 6-6.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

His coaching philosophy doesn't include discipline and toughness. Reasons mentioned above don't have anything to do with that. Lacking those facets of the game results in a losing approach to playing football at any level.

6-6 this year delays his firing by a year, in my opinion. This team still should’ve won 7 or 8 in the regular season, much like we should’ve won 9 or 10 last year.

At this point he’s going to be on the hot seat next year no matter how this season goes. And let me tell you... I’m not loving our bowl chances next year. We have five very loseable road games, none of which I will expect to win under Moorhead. Then we play 3-4 teams at home that are more than capable of beating us.

Agreed, the QB situation is 110% Joe’s fault. It’s not like we’re down to a freshman QB because we had 3 QBs with season ending injuries. We’re using a true freshman because he decided against using the two 4-star QBs on the roster, and his senior transfer has been completely ineffective against the SEC even when healthy. Joe created this mess

Also, as far as tutorgate goes, the head coach gets a piece of that blame too. Joe may not have signed off on the scandal, but it is absolutely his responsibility to understand a few things about how his kids are maintaining their eligibility. Someone on his staff is/was responsible for overseeing this
