How long will Florida alum accept Mullen going 10-2?

Just curious.. We shall see as it appears that he has an excellent shot at that once again. I couldn’t see it going past 4-5 years, especially if he slips and goes 9-3 next year, and never beats Georgia. You know, Mclwain made UF so ‘hungry‘ for wins, they will take it for awhile. Although hypothetically, if Mullen had to ‘follow up’ Meyer (their greatest coach of all time), they may not have tolerated 10 wins long at all.

Mullen has a knack for being in the right place at the right time. Always following up a losing coach so your coaching appears much better in comparison.

He's 17-4 (.810 winning %). He finished #7 last year, and he's #7 right now.

Urban Meyer was 65-15 (.813) at Florida, and Steve spurrier was 122-27-1 (.813) at Florida. I'm not saying Mullen is on their level, but he's doing well compared to anyone at Florida SO FAR.

McElwain won the east in his only two full seasons, beat Georgia both years, and went 10-2 / 8-3 (would’ve been 9-3 if a game hadn’t been canceled). Only had 3 SEC losses other than losing twice to Bama in the sec championship game.

I know it fell apart in 2017, but just want to point out that 2015 & 2016 for Florida were basically equal to the greatest seasons we’ve ever experienced in our lifetimes at MSU. Mullen didn’t inherit a Croom or Sherrill situation. I think they’ll tolerate the 10 win seasons but won’t put up with a couple of 7 or 8 win years.

I think he can go 10-2 for many years. He will tease them to death by beating all the teams he should beat but rarely winning the big ones. It will take them quite a while to have the balls to make a change.

I have no prediction on Mullen to the NFL. I dont think he or his offense are NFL material, but all it takes is one interested owner to make it happen.

UF fans love him down here. They appreciate seeing a well coached team that plays hard and lots of adjustments along the way. They do say he needs to recruit a little bit better, but from where they have been past several years, they will take 10-2 for a while.

Mullen will be better at Florida than MSU for 3 reasons:

1. Mullen won't spend half of his time at Florida working on finding a "higher profile" job, at least not another college job.
2. Florida has so many players that you don't have to be a great or even good recruiter to land plenty of talent.
3. Mullen is no longer playing musical chairs with his DC now that he has Grantham. If Grantham should leave though it will be interesting to see if he can find another DC that will stick with him.
