I would place most of my net worth on the fact that he won’t be here next year. There is no way that any sane State fan can watch our game today and say that he will turn this around. He will not do it. He is not the guy. It is completely obvious that there is something lost in the translation between game plan and player execution. Keeping him another year will be a major and inexcusable mistake.

If IF we beat Arkansas, Ole Miss and Abilene Christian I’m willing right now to take your wager of your net worth and put it against mine that he will 100% be our coach next year.

Mississippi State cannot and WILL NOT fire a head coach that gets to a bowl.

It may not be what we’re happy with at the moment, but you can’t justify firing a coach here if he goes to a bowl

He will pull out the stops to beat Arky, Abilene Christian and Ole Miss. And he will likely survive ...... until November 2020.

If he is, it is a reflection of bad leadership from the higher ups. It can not be more clear that this is a loser. Time to sell.

I just can't see him being our coach next year after 14 months of this decline. Nothing positive at all has come from this hire. Like I said before, if this university allows him to come back next year. then we have bad leadership. He's a good man, but he's not no where near an sec coach. The games we should have won, we don't even match with them at all.. I can only hope this decline don't go past this season...

Tutorgate, true freshman QB, injuries, etc... yeah this year sucks, last year was a disappointment, but are people really thinking this **** thru? Really? It would be foolish to fire this guy now. ...

Decline...so you expected after he lost our defense of last year and there wouldn’t be a decline? Nothing positive? I’d say his recruiting is positive.

Fat fingered a downvote. But yeah, the sooner Joe is gone the better. There are some painfully obvious internal problems with this team and it's even more obvious that JM had no idea how to "fix it".

Sounds like there are some pretty well connected boosters that aren’t sold on JoMo. I’m not sure he’s back. The money boys are, uh, not pleased.

Watch the blind squirrel find a nut and beat bama but lose the other 3. That would be fitting for this year.

If Cohen was dumb enough to extend his contract and buyout after last year’s results he will probably do the same again this year and we will be even worse off next year.

Just my opinion but I don’t think we will fire him even if he goes 4-8. He may leave on his own but I doubt we fire him. He could comeback next year and show massive improvement with his recruits and without the suspensions. His past record leads me to believe that the man is a good coach but that doesn’t necessarily mean he will succeed here. I want him to be successful because I want out team to be successful but I just think we are not a good combination and he’s going to have to prove me wrong at this point.

I really do hate this isn’t working. I hate it for us most of all, and I hate it for Joe, who is doubtlessly a proud and good man. If it doesn’t work and he goes to Rutgers, I will root for him hard to succeed this time.

I don’t really know what I’m saying, just that I hate for everybody involved that things are going this way. But it is, as they say, what it is.

This is a reasonable statement - and I think there are more of us (myself included) who feel the same way you do.

No one intended for things to turn out this way - the chemistry isn't there. Most importantly, your tone is that it isn't personal. It didn't work out. Irrational fans place the negative emotions on it. At the end of the day, sometimes "divorce" is necessary and both parties are better for it.

It is a coach's job to plan for things going to hell.

This summer I would have called you crazy but I honestly believe there is a 50/50 chance it happens if we lose to either Ark, AC or ole miss.

Especially if we lose to Ole Miss at home.

Have an upvote.

I agree. I hate this for everyone involved. I hate it for Joe, who is likable and a good guy. I hate it for the players who were looking forward to big things. I hate it for the fans who bought into Moorhead and thought we were going to take the next step. And I hate it for Cohen because his guy didn't work out - and now he's in a tough spot.

I can't speak for everyone, but I take no pleasure in watching us lose, and I take no pleasure in wanting to see us go through another coaching change. But it's where we are, and the longer we put it off, the longer we are doomed to disappointment. We all deserve better.

I agree. My opinion has nothing to do with the man. I fully expect him to be here next season, but if we tank, things could change. It all comes down to money.

Money that is donated, money that is lost with empty seats, money lost from no bowl game... Those things make a bigger difference than any amount of message board chatter.

We lose next week and I will bet my next check that rumors will really start rolling, from real sources.
