I have exactly zero qualms with a setup that will takes us away from playing Bama every year. Let’s do it.

And I’m not sure if we’d ever do 9 games but that would pretty much solve the super long wait times between games entirely, even if you keep divisions. 6 vs your division. 1 permanent and then staged rotate home and away with the other two slots. Then you’re going at most four years in between games right?

Year 1: 1 & 2
Year 2: 2 & 3
Year 3: 3 & 4
Year 4: 4 & 5
Year 5: 5 & 1

I’m sure there’s plenty of reasons not to go to 9 but I wouldn’t hate it.

As I have said before, if they go to a 9 game SEC schedule, they will find a way to screw State, Ole Miss, Vandy, UK and Arkansas.

The solution with a9 game schedule:

Keep 4 Home games and 4 road games and make the 9th conference game a “Classic” game on a neutral field.

Missouri/Kentucky in St. Louis

UT/Bama in Nashville

Georgia/Florida in Jacksonville

Carolina/Auburn in Atlanta

A&M/Arkansas in Dallas

Vandy/Ole Miss in Corinth

MSU/LSU in Jackson (in an updated Stadium of course)

That might be the dumbest thing I’ve read on this board and that’s saying something

Sigh.....

When you got to Corinth as the site for Ole Miss and Vandy, did you not suspect this was satire?

They'll have to go to nine games if we expand to 16 teams. Four 4 team pods with each team having permanent opponents in the other pods. You change to pod pairings every year or every other year.
