Would you play Stevens over Shrader at this point...

even assuming Stevens is 100% healthy? I would not. Let's roll with Shrader and go to a bowl with 6-7 wins and start preparing for next year.

Got to go with the Flyin Saucer!!! Stevens has shown that he can play when he isn't injured, but what are we playing for now? Let's get SHRADAR the experience.

Your initial premise is wrong IMO because I don't think he can play an SEC game against a conference foe and remain healthy. I mean his initial multi-week injury was from falling down on the grass on his shoulder. He wasn't on artificial turf, he wasn't driven into the ground and nobody even fell on him but yet his shoulder is out of whack from just falling over on the grass. I'm sorry, if that's all it takes to injure him, he has no prayer to make it through a big time SEC game, much less an SEC season.

No, the guys is taking away snaps during the week from the eventual player in the game. Give Shrader all QB1 snaps and make Tommy the backup. Run KT in the wild dawg to mix things up and give Shrader a break.

No. It’s unfortunate for Stevens as he looked impressive to start the season. However some people’s bodies are just not able to stand up to the beatings. Stevens, thank you for coming and making a final attempt, but we have got to play for the future at this point. Now that his red shirt is basically gone, roll with Garrett

No and its not even a close decision. Shrader is a better runner, is 10X tougher, and he's got three more years to get better. Stevens is a senior and is as good as he is going to get, cannot run, and is easily injured. The only possible advantage is a HEALTHY Stevens might be a slightly better passer. Very slightly. With his shoulder injury he cannot hit the broad side of a barn. If Stevens had taken a hit like Shrader did vs KState he would still be in traction.

No offense to Tommy. I appreciate his willingness to cast his lot in Vegas and he seems to be a good guy. It just did not work out for him. I wish him well and hope he will always consider himself a bulldog.

I really hoped Shrader could redshirt this year. I don't think he's quite ready as a passer. But at this point, it's not much of a choice. You have to roll with Shrader.

I think based on the Auburn game, Shrader is the starter. But if Stevens is consistently outperforming him in practice, I'm ok with him starting again after he gets healthy. If I were JOe, even if I thought he was the best option, I wouldn't start him. I'd let Shrader roll and if he has a bad series or two, put Stevens in.

If it was my choice Tommy would not start again. I know Joe feels like he owes him this season but I think he tried to give him the **** and it didn't work out. The team rallies around GS.

That sounds reasonable. Joe has gotta know playing Tommy, much less starting him, is not an option until Shrader gives him a reason to.

Shrader all the way. If Stevens gets healthy, perhaps use him as they did at PSU.

that's where I am. I had hoped we could have him longer than that; however,if Moorhead doesn't get his **** together, is it worth burning Shrader's red shirt over? Is Moorhead going to put him in the best place possible to win for the rest of the season with play calling, game preparation, and overall team management?

Shrader at this point gives us the best option to win though and the offense is better with a legit qb run threat.

Shrader has to start the rest of the way.

Stevens came in and gave it a shot and I appreciate that. It's time to move into the next QB era at state and not count on an interim QB.

This. ^

The O-line and receivers looked a hell of a lot more focused when GS was running the show.

Shrader has to be the guy.

I understand loyalty and honoring a senior that took a chance leaving to come play for us and lead this team but unfortunately the guy can’t stay healthy. I like Stevens and I think he’s a nice guy but if you can’t stay healthy then you’re interrupting the flow of the game, hurting the offensive rhythm and taking away reps from Shrader in practice and ultimately lowering our chances of winning the game.

Even if Stevens is healthy we aren’t gonna run him. This offense works best when the QB is a threat to run and we have a better shot at winning with an extra man running the ball.

Maybe. IFF Stevens is completely healthy for multiple 2-3 weeks in practice. If at any point in the previous few weeks he could not go full speed at practice, do not put him out there. I think it hurt us in both KSU (possibly impacting final outcome) and Auburn (likely not mattering in the ultimate W or L).

true. I just hope Moorhead puts him in the best place to be successful with planning and overall in game coaching.

I honestly don't know if anyone truly knows what Stevens is capable of if he is healthy. So it is hard to say.

Remember when Derrick Brown late hit Shrader and drove him into the ground right in front of the ref? Should have been a roughing call, but of course it wasn't called. Point is Shrader got up like a beast. Stevens would have been on a stretcher.

Definitely Shrader all the way. To some extent we are playing for next year already anyway, so the more reps he can get in both practice and games, the better. He definitely has to get more accurate with the long ball.

I feel for Stevens. If he had never gotten injured, great. At this point I feel it is just too late to bring him back and deny Shrader the added experience.

GS appears to give us the best chance to win right now and may become a real stud. He's gotta be running the show for now.

I’ve been one of Stevens biggest cheerleaders, but I think this is Shrader’s team. Whatever that intangible “it” is, he’s got it.

No. I think with his performances so far, Shrader has earned the starting position. He did really well in the Auburn game considering the score was 21-0 before he got his first play in.

the only weeks he has had the benefit of getting first team snaps, we won. Give him all the snaps.

Just like KT last year. KT would have still won 8 games and we would have been in much better situation for this season with him having more than 2 starts in 2 seasons.
