He may get fired and not be cut out for the SEC but he is a really hard worker that is really intelligent and really wants to win at our university. I hope it works out for Joe at MSU. He may not be the guy to get us there but if he is he will be the easiest MSU coach we have ever had to pull for.

You must not have gotten the word... for maximum internet credibility you're supposed to be reflexively negative and **** all over our players and coaches at every opportunity.

I'm in this camp

Last year was frustrating. Last week was frustrating. But man, winning those bounce back games shows a lot about the locker room.

There's a lot of really young football talent in our program right now. And it's scattered across position groups too.

I hope Joe can find success here. But the constant pile on threads are exhausting. Glad to see this one.

I hope he succeeds. Hard to say at this point. Got to get through this year and scratch out 6 wins to get a bowl of some kind. And move on from there.

Still too early in the relationship to proclaim my love. That said, I don't hate him, either. There's some stuff I like, some stuff I don't,and some stuff I realize that is out of his control.

The people who are the most negative are probably rooting for him the hardest. The desire for him (or any MSU coach) to be successful is what fuels the disappointment when they aren't. I'd love for him to succeed. But that desire isn't going to make me his polish turds.

BTW, it was a nice win today. We absolutely had to have it and we got it.

I completely don’t understand this...

anyhoo... people piling on this coach who is dealing with the effing cheating suspensions, and injuries to your starting QB, and a very thin RB corp...and ripping him, the coach, blows me away. What idiots some of you are.

I'm not back on the wagon yet. We had a really good first half but had some costly mistakes in the second half. Gotta work on tackling from our defensive backs and LBs not getting fooled so badly.

I definitely was not the cluster17 it was last week and an improvement. We just need to continue to improve.

It was fun watching Schrader and Hill, much better OL play and better play from our WRs.

Nothing that you said isn't true. I like the guy too. He just doesn't seem to be able to translate his message to the team. He speaks of "efficiency, maintaining composure, playing hard and physical..." but the team doesn't do that. We're hot and cold but pretty much always average at best when it comes to football IQ.

I don’t think I’ve seen one complaint about the running backs or the quarterback play. Most of it is consistent lack of discipline, bad play calling, way too much business going on after the whistle while not taking care of it between the whistles, bad tackling, lack of effort/intensity and general unpreparedness.

I could be wrong though, please provide evidence if I am

Looked pretty dang good when we were up 21-3 and had two consecutive drives end in the red zone after we were clicking very nicely with a freshman QB and then we have a pass sail because he had pressure at his feet and led to a pick and then he just held onto it too long next drive and led to a fumble. We could’ve easily had that pushed to 35-3. I believe in Joe. Just gotta have the guys execute the plays! Awesome awesome win today.

By all accounts we’ve got one of the best team vibes we’ve ever had. The locker room is very tight and the players are very much team-focused rather than me-focused.

It takes time to build a culture. Gotta be patient.

Long story short, we should pull for Joe to succeed, and Cohen should give him the money to go get quality assistant coaches that can help him run the program the way he wants it. His ability to get things back on track says a lot. Good HCs don’t grow on trees, so we shouldn’t expect to find someone better. We have already sacrificed one of the best teams in our history (2018) to let him learn on the job, so let’s give this thing a chance.

What assistant coaches did we lose because of money and what assistants didn't we get because of money?

Uh, no sir.

Uh, yeah. At least for me. I’ve been vocal about wanting him to succeed because he is such a fit culturally and his style is a breath of fresh air when compared to Mullen. But naw, some of you just want to make it anti-joe.

That said, we have much bigger problems than youth and suspensions. And regardless of what happened yesterday, we have a bad loss on the schedule that we shouldn’t have, which will lead to unmet expectations aGAIN, unless we figure out how to pull a big upset somewhere down the line.

If you people who only live to bash those who dare to provide critical commentary would actually listen, you might learn something.

He does **** that frustrates the hell out of me. Last year was disappointing considering the expectations but if we beat Iowa - I think everyone is ok with taking a few steps back this year.

Plus - this season has sucked from an injury and suspension standpoint. The tutor situation is not his fault to me. We just got caught. We should be 4-0 and I think with a healthy Stevens or Shrader starting from day 1 - we probably are. I have hope he will be successful. Get to 7 wins and let’s move forward. 10 straight bowls would be awesome.

I've seen the strength coach mentioned. What about the two that Bama took?

The strength coach went to be a head strength coach for the Tampa Bay Bucs. There's only 32 of those jobs. The two that went to Bama considered it a better job and career choice to help them move up in the industry. Hudspeth went to be a head coach, which was his goal all along.

This makes no sense. The people defending him are rooting harder.

You're part of the "I hope I'm wrong", "yeah, but", "hate to say it".

Why would you think that people that defend him and don't call him juvenile names are not rooting for Joe as hard as all of you that trash him at every turn.

Logic is not your strong suit.

Nearly half this board seems to be Dan Mullen mind-17'd still.

I keep reading about how intelligent Moorhead is. Is he that intelligent, or is just that good at bullshitting and repeatedly spouting off attractive tag lines? He talks a good game, but in game coaching leaves me scratching my head.

So the fans that trash Joe are pulling for him harder than those that defend him

Is this a tough love approach? Y'all motivating Joe to try harder, do better?

I know this board was born to criticize, but to act like this constant anti-Joe narrative (aided by trolls/**** stirrers) is something akin to a teacher or coach being "tough" on a talented kid to motivate them to greatness is another level of delusion.

Seems like it's just talking out both sides of your mouth. If he fails, then it's I told you so. If he succeeds then "I was pulling for him".

Well, to be fair we do have at least 10 players who are(were) “me focused”.***

But I feel good about yesterday. Even though my friends gave me a hard time after the game, because I get frustrated with crappy non-tackling hand grabbers, and gaping holes up the middle and wide open receivers, I still love State and enjoy the wins. It is just difficult for me to watch them struggle to get a win and most definitely difficult to watch them lose to teams that nearly everyone considers inferior to State. (See last week for reference).

But there are reasons for the struggles this year that cannot be glossed over as if we have 11 4 and 5 stars waiting to step in for an injury or suspensions. We will never have that kind of depth.

What's your point? That lower salaries attracts and retains better assistants? Sadly, I've seen similar logic around here lately.

I hear ya, but if you’re looking for perfect execution you need to be watching the NFL. There might be 3 or 4 college teams that can produce that type of execution every week and even those teams are flawed.

I don’t know how much time some
of you guys spend with 18 and 19 year olds, but at different times every single one of them is batshit crazy, both the guys and the girls.

They are way overloaded with hormones and at that age EVERYTHING seems hyper important and life altering. They can have super short attention spans and can be far more reactionary than proactive.

They’re not professionals. They get upset if their boyfriend or girlfriend didn’t text them before the game...they’re stressed out about grades and finals...many of them are homesick. You have to make them eat right. You have to make them sleep right. You have to help them learn to manage every little decision and aspect of their lives. It’s not easy, and it’s frankly amazing to watch the Dabo’s and Saban’s and Meyer’s and Stoops’s get it done year after year after year.

Part of the fun for me is watching a guy like Moorhead learn and improve and help guide these kids through the strangest four years of their lives. Watching him with Kylin Hill yesterday was awesome. I think he’s going to be good for us and our players, even if we don’t win an SEC title while he’s here.

Hey dub mass. Everyone here is here because they are pulling for state to win. Just because someone is critical doesn’t mean they want state to fail. Sorry you’re having such a hard time putting 2 and 2 together. One thing is certain, no one is going to confuse you for Einstein any time soon.

Cuss me and then change what you said. "Negative posters pull harder for Joe than those that defend him on here" is what you said.

As I said above, that's not logical.

You can call it a bad loss and I get it. But at the same time we had injuries that had a big impact on us as well as this tutorgate mess. We go in to that game healthy and we win that one

Let me add: 1) Play suspended players only in 50/50 type games 2) Beat Mississippi 3) Win bowl game.
