Headed to the game tomorrow and should be in Starkville pretty early in the day. I'd like to find a spot in the Cotton District to park (for free) and eat lunch before heading to campus. I'd like to try to avoid paying the $30 for on campus parking. Any suggestions?

You can park downtown and ride the shuttle in for free, or walk it and stop for lunch along the way. Parking in the CD is nightmarish on non-gamedays.

Just be aware that a lot of Downtown will probably still be blocked off from Bulldog Bash.

You can also shuttle in from the Walmart Grocery Store.

And Vowells and Walmart Supercenter, and Kroger Parking lot and Chevron at Patriot Park, and Greensboro Center and City Hall and Regions Bank on Main.

Basically anywhere along the Old Main Gameday and Highway 12 Gameday routes. (just remember they are modified for gameday as buses cannot get all the way down University Drive).

I used to park at the Catholic Church. It wasn’t free, but used to be $10 and was relatively easy in (if you get there early) and easy out. And walking distance to CD, downtown, and campus.

The added plus of seeing fight night, this might be the go to place

There’s a shuttle that runs from the Starkville Daily News, I usually have parked somewhere between First Pres. Church and Regions for free. About a 20 or so minute walk, so it’s certainly doable, but the shuttle is handy as well. Picks up after the game behind the stadium right by the architecture building.
