If Kansas State could've fielded punts, they would have won by 3 scores instead of just 1 score.

thank you Kansas state for the big penalty on the drive before the half and the miracle throw and catch to Mitchell. Thank you Stewart Reese for the forced fumble and thank you KSU upbacks for muffing 2 punts.

A healthy Stevens and we’d be having a lot different discussions on the board right now. Joe calls a much more conservative game with Shrader in, and Shrader doesn’t have the deep accuracy yet.

This is probably true but it’s squarely on Sloppy Joe that we didn’t have Autry for this game and used him for Southern Miss. What a waste.

pretty bad especially when you consider the scheme. Mo said he knew they would be running a lot of 2 back sets with a FB. And a lot of 2 TE sets. This was the game to play Autry and probably Gay.

Having said that, the defense didn't really cost us the game. 7 3 and outs cost us the game + the kickoff return for the TD.

True. Last year 8-4 in regular season to 4-8 this season. Possible.

Generally speaking, our overall lack of toughness and discipline lost this game today.

Specifically, they scored points off two turnovers (the Guidry tip pass - WTF, and the Stevens open field fumble - aGAIN, WTF). And then they scored on the kick return where I don't think the kid was even touched.

So, there are a number of things where, had they been cleaned up, we would be having some different discussions. But the same general issues that we saw in our first two games, and so many wanted to make excuses for, showed up today and we couldn't overcome them.

Well. This. And playing only 10 on defense against their 11. The reason I say we only played 10 on defense, is it is quite apparent whoever was responsible for #83 for KSU, never took the field. That guy could have been targeted 25 times, he was open so much.
