OT: calling on SPS for ideas/opinions

Hey SPS Nation, quick question for the board.

We’ve got some friends who invited us to go use their beach house for a few days while they are traveling elsewhere. Definitely taking them up and that offer and want to do something nice for them as a thank you.

What do you guys do for things like this? Just looking for ideas, and Hail State.

A family friend lets us use her beach condo once or twice a year. We pay the cleaning fee, re-stock the place with any supplies (tp, soap, garbage bags, etc) that are low, and buy a few bottles of her favorite wine.

If you know where they'll be staying while they are traveling (hotel?), you could arrange for a basket including a nice bottle of sparkling wine/champagne (or other type of highly-rated wine, fruits, cheeses, etc, to be waiting for them when they arrive, along with a thank you note. This is assuming they drink alcohol.

Another thought...if they are going on vacation you might consider buying them spa services, like a 1-hour massage or something along those lines. But you'd have to have a pretty good idea they'd have time for that.

Rather than arrange something special to be delivered where they are going, you could do the above or something similar and have it waiting for them when they get back to their home.
