But Paul Jones is reporting that he's hearing mixed information about Tommy's availability this week, and the way Joe answered the question in his press conference just now wasn't exactly a vote of confidence in his ability to play this weekend. I believe his exact words about Tommy playing were "I wouldn't rule it out."

You try and get every advantage you can and even if Tommy was 100%, I would hope JoMo would be coy either way.

His ability to stay on the field was one of his largest question marks. Come on kid.

The best ability is availability. Between suspensions and injuries, I have no clue what to expect from this team on a week to week basis.

The frustrating part is that, based on what I’ve seen of us and the other teams on our schedule, we have the talent to be a 9+ win team when we are at full strength.

JoeMo also said that if you would’ve asked him last week if Darryl Williams would play against southern, he would’ve said no way but the way he progressed with the injury is why he did.

Could be Tommy's still sore. Could just be "coach speak" to throw the KSU planners off.

Or possibly Tommy doesn't like the heat. **

My guess is Tommy plays, but not at 100%. None of our reporters asked if all 10 suspended players are serving the same 8 game suspension.

Here's what I saw in watching the game replay: Stevens never lifts his right arm from his side in the second half. In fact he looks like he's taking care not to move his shoulder.

It wouldn't do any good to ask whether any of our players are (or, will be) serving a suspension. That question would never be answered.

The answer would be something like this: "I can't give you a definitive answer on that. We're looking at it, and it will be a game-time decision."

Same answer for any injury question.

You are incorrect. He also was high fiving fans with his right hand at the gridiron club after the game.

Not only that uncertainty. As far as the line goes, Vegas Insider has State -8; Massey has projected score State 28 KSU 14; Sagarin has KSU -1 and that includes State given -2.5 points home field advantage

Pretty clear now what the staff approach is for reporters with access

They have asked reporters to not press the suspension issue bc it does give an element of surprise for the other team in not knowing who to prepare for. Might as well preserve the one possible positive in an otherwise crappy situation.

All it would take to clear the Autry issue up is to just ask Autry if he's suspended for more games and he'd likely tell you. That's not a FERPA violation, that's a simple question to an adult he is free to answer if he'd like.

The fact the insiders aren't attempting to dig into this says they've been told to ignore it and keep everyone in the dark. I'm not picking either bc a) i would so the same if I were Moorhead and b) I would do the same if I were a reporter with access.

I think the same logic applies for a possible injured starting QB. Uncertainty can only make the opponent have to prep for more. So make vague statements to the media and sunshine pumpers.

I wouldn't say either way.

The only way to know is wait.

I watched him on the bench, that's what I saw. I don't expect to see him this week.

Sounds like and joint injury. On the last pass he threw and the ball sailed on him you could see him grimace and shake his right arm and feel his shoulder. I would hold him just to be on the safe side. We can win this game with Schrader and Thompson or either one of them if they will just manage the game and don't turn the ball over. In other words you want every possession to end in a kick.

If I had to guess, I'd go with grade 1 AC separation. If it is an AC, we better hope it's grade one. If very mild, he could miss as little as 2 weeks.

With a shoulder injury I think there are two big concerns:

1. How much will it affect his accuracy if he plays through it? It's possible he's able to play but isn't as crisp in the passing game while he's dealing with this, and I think that's something we need to be prepared for.

2. Every hit/sack on him is going to be cause for concern now. To me it has always seemed like shoulder injuries have a relatively high rate of re-injury for QBs. You just worry about him taking one bad hit as he's playing through it and then poof, his season is over.

He's also going to have to learn to get rid of the ball a little quicker and not take as many sacks. I don't want to blame the kid for his own injury, but he probably could've thrown it away on that particular play and avoided getting slung down like he did.

I hope everybody saw Tommy Touchdown address the media and touch on the status of his injured shoulder. Maybe we can all put down our stethoscopes and relax now. And might I say he and Garrett are impressive with thier coach speak. But he practiced and feels fine. Stop panicking for now.
