Threatening to "shoot up a school" is a pretty serious matter these days, even if done jokingly (compare to saying you have a bomb when going through security at an airport ... you get arrested).

A school teacher in Florida was suspended and probably will be fired for detailing to his students how he'd go about a school shooting, taking out "maybe 1000". It's not a joking matter.
