Thought it was weird XM has been talking about the Colts playing without him this year. Guess this has been building for a while.

So if he retires, sits out a year, then has the itch to come back and play, do the Colts still hold his rights? Asking as a disinterested Saints fan.

A lot of the fantasy services were saying not to draft him because of an unsure future for this season. Guess they knew it was coming.

OK so I’m feeling emotional pressure, but I’m getting paid $20MM a year. I think I can gut it out the next 3 years and then retire! What a dubmass!

He’s already banked almost $100 million since he got drafted in 2012. Obviously money is not an issue here. Dude was burned out and sick of constantly being injured. He’s got his whole life ahead of him and loads of money in the bank, if he didn’t want to jeopardize his long term health by playing a few more years, I think he earned the right to make that decision.

I think I’m more in agreement with this.

Than this.

If someone offered me 58 million over the next three years to offer to be a practice team punt returner who’s job it was is to let players try to time their hits right after I caught the ball I would ask where do I sign.

Agree. He's got plenty of money and is more worried about long term quality of life. Others would rather gamble on this and gut it out for the money. Easy choice for me......retire.
