Arkansas getting a natural grass field

I dont even think we get our grass from us.

I was told by a golf course superintendent last month that MSU does not use our own "inventions" anymore; we use other schools' research and products. According to him and another turf-grass graduate from the early 90's, our enrollment in that program has plummeted and we are doing very little research compared to what we were doing back then.

Golf Superintendent huh?

Was his name Carl Spackler?

You could play 18 holes of golf and then Smoke the bejesis out of it.

Yeah I remember the articles back when the national championship was in Arizona they had our grass shipped out there about 5 years ago or so.

Apparently Arkansas got their grass from somewhere around Memphis

Seems like after about a decade or two of a lot of schools (especially smaller universities and high schools) switched to turf but now it seems like there’s been a reversal with more schools wanting to change back to natural grass

One of those switchers was OM if I recall correctly. I think Kentucky went from grass to turf at their last update, but it wouldn't be surprising to see them switch back.

Well, if this board would actually discuss MSU football it would have been known. The other board has talked about for about a week now. But enough about football, let's discuss, grass, Siri, blood sports, logos, and other great topics..... ***

I can live with this board being 1 week behind on a topic like Arkansas' turf. Not exactly pressing info.
But hey, kudos to whichever board dropped this 'breaking' news.

Carl Spackler: "Check me if I'm wrong, Sandy, but if I kill all the golfers, they're gonna lock me up and throw away the key..."
Sandy: "Gophers, ya great git! Not golfers! The little brown furry rodents!"
Carl Spackler: "We can do that... we don't even have to have a reason."

Why exactly?

Why can I live with this sort of 'news' being discussed a week later than elsewhere? Because I dont give enough of a **** about Arkansas' stadium turf situation to want such info right away.
Odd question to ask me.

Petrino preferred turf because he thought it made his skill players faster, Morris prefers natural grass. Some have said that natural grass doesn't grow well in Razorback Stadium because it's in a valley surrounded by mountains but apparently the new field being installed is state-of-the-art grass that allows it to stay green no matter the conditions. Never thought grass could sound so fancy.

Also going with red endzones which we've never done before.

I agree. It is getting out of hand. Just the other day i was driving my car rather quickly in the left lane and I was not going to be making the turn up ahead. As I was passing cars and flipping through the local radio stations....gosh Rush's singer sounds just like a woman..... I got rather hungry. I chose chic fil a. The Lord's chicken. I felt at peace that i made this decision. I also felt that their logo is rather weird but hey who is studying logos these days. I made it back to work in time to log on to sixpack and the horror. No sports discussions. Just guys rambling on about junk that nobody wants to read or even respond to. Geez you people make me sick!

Boy... well you just brought a lot to the table to discuss when it comes to sports.

How was your chicken?

There is nothing to discuss sports related. We all know the fall camp speak. We all know there’s a QB battle that Stevens will win. We know the question marks and the for sure things on our team. MLB just hit the trade deadline... the girls b-ball season ticket holders are getting pushed for more money... our little league team represented the state well and beat out Arkansas... that just about covers it. Bring something to the table then if you’ve got some new news that everyone can discuss and read about instead of posting to gripe about what others are discussing.

It was great. Thank you so much for asking! I am not a fan of the waffle fries. Although, did you know that they released a statement stating that their waffle fries are the most ordered item on their menu?? Nice fun fact for the day. You may win trivia night one day at the local watering hole due to that little factoid and everyone will be shocked! How did NWA dog know this. You will be remembered through out the lands of Arkansas for the trivia winning answer. And that will all be because you took a small time out of your day and asked about my chicken lunch. My friend you are an amazing person.

One of the best comedies ever. Larry Templeton was judge smells in real life.
