The worst part of the Croom Error was the whole joke of it all.
Croom was a joke himself. He was never head coach material. We all know why he was in that position, but couldn't they have picked someone who actually COULD coach?
The uniforms were a joke. Ugliest crap I've ever seen in my life. Worst in the FBS.
Our social experiment at the expense of winning was a joke. Again, it could have been great, had they actually gotten a GOOD coach who was also black. Why not Charlie Strong???? This was nothing but Templeton trying to slobber on the Bammer/SEC schlong.
Opposing fans/coaches/media treated us like a joke. Remember Tuberville's statement "I'm sure he's got a 10-year plan in place". You know he was laughing his *** off when the camera stopped rolling.
Larry Templeton shares in this blame, he facilitated the whole thing. I knew when Jackie resigned, that we were going to hire Croom. I don't really even blame Jackie anymore, and truth be known, the earth wasn't THAT damn scorched when he left. Any decent coach could have won 6 games in 2004.
