Why does this make him an asshat? Minus the embodiment of ole miss reply, I’d agree with him. I disagree with him now but just because a random poster said he embodies ole miss, and i know I’d end up disagreeing with him for something.

Lulz. What a dumbass. Jesus hung out with prostitutes but you can’t be in a car with a journalist cause of the optics. Pandering to the weakest minded.

It’s all for publicity. He’s a distant third in the Rep. primary. This got him more face time and internet clicks than he could ever get on his own.

Hasn't been discussed because this is a sports and socializing board, neither of those topic umbrellas allow for discussion of political candidates.

He's focusing more on social media for his campaign and this drove clicks more than anything he could've put out.

Bottom line is, you can't tell a female reporter you're denying her access to a story that you would give to a male reporter. That's discrimination that is specifically against the law. I respect his policy, even though I think it's ridiculous, but if he's that adamant about it, he needs to provide the chaperone.

It’s 2019 and women are slapping candidates with all kinds of accusations of misconduct. I’m not saying that’s really his motivation, but I can understand why a married, male candidate would take that stance.

Problem is you can't trust her to get in your car, just the two of you, and trust what she might say.
Let her get her own ride....TODAYS WORLD.

He’s not completely out in left field. Many corporations these days require a third party in the room when a male in a position of leadership has to meet with a female subordinate regarding job performance, codes of conduct, etc. Same goes for a female leader with a male subordinate.

Erring on the side of caution for sure, but in today’s climate you just can’t be too safe. He should have found another way to work with this reporter without making a big scene like this but as another poster said he’s getting lots of clicks out of this one.

This guy's pulling votes from Tate.

Then Tate and Waller are gonna end up in the run off for the GOP Guv candidate.

Waller folks are gonna be pi$$t when Tate destroys him and turn against Tate in the general.

And we're gonna end up with Marty 17n Stuart as the next Governor.

It may have something to do with this being a sports message board, Asshat.

Jesus didn't need to be elected Jesus. Jesus is the Son of God, and Son of Man by his choice.

What is getting lost in this article and comments here is the fact this women and her editor are claiming it's sexist...that Foster is saying she isn't qualified or good enough to do her job without the support of a man. But that is not at all what he is saying. He is quite clearly saying he won't expose himself to potential false accusations from his political enemies by being alone with a female reporter.

It's not as if he is saying she needs to get approval or authorization from the male...just that he does not want to ever be alone with her during an interview. In this crazy Me-too age we live in, I cant say that I blame him. Just look at what they (the left) did to Kavanaugh.

If you are so weak of faith and weak of character that riding in a car with a female journalist is too much for you to handle you can’t handle being governor. Using your faith as a fundraising tool is about like Freeze using it for recruiting. He’s saying he does the Billy Graham rule but than says it’s for the optics. Which is it? Is it your faith or the election?

Please do tell how this has anything to do with being weak of faith or weak of character? The dude is just trying to do what he believes is necessary to protect himself in today’s age where anyone can make a claim for sexual assault regardless of the truth of it and the media just runs with it. I guess you missed the whole Brett Kavanaugh fiasco . . .
