The Walking Dead comic book ended today. I was just reading about it. I can't say I've ever read the comic, but the show lost me after the head bashing episode. The whole Negan arch just took waaaay to long for my taste.

This is me. I liked it a lot for the first few years. It was over the top and a bit silly, but it was fun to watch.....It steadily got worse and the Negan character was just so bad. The actor was awful. The character was dumb.

I made it a few more episodes after the head bashing and then just gave it.

Such an awful actor and character, but I am glad I am not wasting time watching it anymore

I watched the first 3 seasons. I liked it at first then I lost interest. They moved to this place, zombies attack, tough decisions were made, some of the survivors are worse than the zombies and they move to another place and repeat. I think zombie apocalypse stuff is more suited to be a 2 hour movie than a tv show.

The show probably needs to end soon, or it should have already honestly. Most of this most recent season was actually pretty good, The Whisperers arc has been interesting to see play out on TV to this point.

The issue is they lost a ton of goodwill in the last 3-4 years, and now the show has lost a ton of steam. They still average 4-5 million viewers an episode which is better than most shows, but it’s a fraction of what their audience was a few years ago. They were consistently averaging 12-15 million viewers an episode and would get up to 17-18 for the big episodes. Their viewership has plummeted the last two seasons.

With three movies in the works I doubt you see the show cancelled anytime soon. I still watch it, but I'm not as into it as I used to be. I hate Rick left but I know that was his choice and not the show's choice.

Most shows should start out with a plan to only last 5, maybe 6 seasons max. The first 3 are always the best. People start to lose interest in most shows around season 4 and definitely by season 5 when there's no end in sight.

I did the same thing with this one.

I mean at some point you have to think the zombie population is starting to dwindle. They can’t reproduce.

Use to watch the show but it sucks now. It got of the path it was on.

I got tired of the Negan arc during the bashing season and never came back. Up until then the family and I were huge fans.

It just got boring.

I was a long-time fan and gave up a couple seasons ago. Getting rid of Rick was bad enough, but when the show started down the SJW slide, it was over for me.

AMC would be crazy to stop making TWD. It's still their biggest ratings draw.

It has 3x the viewers as their second most popular show: Fear The Walking Dead. THAT show pulls in 20% more viewership than their 3rd biggest show: Better Call Saul (which we all know is one of the best shows going right now).

I still consider myself a fan, but not as hardcore as I used to be. They way they dicked over Chandler Riggs by surprising him and killing off Carl right after he bought a house near Atlanta rubbed me the wrong way. I think they started off on the wrong foot with the Negan stuff, not because of the head bashing (that's a critical point in the story directly from the source material) but because of the stupid cliffhanger. Also, they stretched the war with the Saviors out over way too long a time period.

For those of you still watching, the last season (since Scott Gimple moved over to make FTWD worse) was pretty good. The torch was fully passed to a new group of leads, and we finally got Magna's group (she and Luke are great). The Whisperers have not been quite as terrifying as I'd hoped so far, but the heads-on-pikes finale was done well.

Kirkman just came out and said he was misquoted and the comic is not over. Just that he now knows the ending and is putting it in place.
