This thread is an example of why this country/planet have the problems it/they have... People just reacting on emotion without actually reading/understanding everything.

No way JT shouldn’t have started the 7th. If a batter got on base, take him out then but he may have not allowed that to happen. Anytime u get 11-12 outs (through 6 innings) on ground balls, that is dealing.

He was only in the 80-85 pitch range. His arm was fine and it wouldn’t have hurt him to go 100 pitches.

He was jawing with a Louisville base runner as he came off the mound in the 6th. He was feeling it, he knew the umps strike zone well and ump was fair to him. We had momentum at that point but lost it.

Call it a bunch, but I bet there was a cap on his pitch count.

The soreness, the sudden visit to the mound and immediate pull during warmups in the SEC tournament, the recent games where Plumlee has jumped into his slot.... it just looks like they are watching his arm really close.

I would guess there is going to be some offseason attention paid to his elbow.

He was on a 75-pitch or 5-inning cap. Lemonis said that since he was so efficient last night, they decided to let him pitch the 6th (wound up being 81 pitches total). It was absolutely the right decision to take him out when he did. You don't expect Liebelt to walk the first 2 batters, combination of bad pitching and bad umpiring, but after those 2, he pitched fine, just got unlucky that ground balls had eyes and found the holes.
