Absolutely wrong. You have to win TWICE. The game you throw Small does not matter. May as well give him another day's rest.

Similar to when we held Graveman vs. UCLA. Did not matter if he threw Tuesday or Wednesday, because you had to win a game without him either way.

I get that you have to win today to get to tomorrow, and then tomorrow to get to Saturday. But the fact is you have to plan to win 3 times.

To have a chance to win twice, you have to win once first. I was confused as to why this is so difficult for you to understand, but then I remembered who I'm talking to.

When this is all you've got, you know you're digging deep.

If we win today, you'll see that Lemonis agrees with me. Cohen already does, seeing how he held Graveman out of the 2013 Finals Game 2.

Your next step is to cry about getting me banned.

Sometimes when the pressure is off your team sort of lets loose and plays with zero 17’s given. Free and energized. That’s our hope....that they play with a nothing to lose strategy. if the bats get hot, we can beat any of these teams including Vandy twice. Vandy is a mature/experienced team so they’re probably not going to panic even if we get to one final game. We can hit their guys if we get hot. we need pitching to engage our own RAT strategy, one of our guys shi* diamonds on the mound and become electic.

Just have to figure out a way to get to Saturday. Get to Saturday with Small on the bump after winning 2 in a row, 1 over Vandy, and the State fans will flood Omaha and all momentum will be on our side with a trip to the Title Series on the line. Just find a way to get to that game.

It was just so important to win yesterday and Corbin realized that and threw every top arm he had. IF we make it to Saturday and Small were to pitch us to the championship series I guess he would be nothing but a spectator for the championship games.

This year’s State team also lacks the power bats in the lineup to win the whole thing.

I mean, our leading home run hitter is a second baseman who weighs 190 lbs. I love it for Foscue, but I’m not sure many championship teams have looked to their 2B for their power bat.

Our top 3 HR hitters have 14, 10, and 7 homers and we play in a park that should be giving up more homers.

Vandy has 5 guys with 10 or more, including JJ Bleday with 26. Our lack of power at 1B and the outfield (McNamee has the 7 homers) has hurt us against SEC pitching because we haven’t been able to produce that big inning with regularity, or make a great pitcher pay for a mistake.

It’s been a great season, and hopefully the first of many for Lemonis.

We are just physically smaller than most of these other teams. Seems every time we sign a power bat (Austin Riley, the Colorado player that went Top 10 rounds of the draft, etc.) they seem to always go pro. Would have been nice if Rooker was still around. Cumbest is probably going to develop into a nice power bat but he is not there yet.

Completely wrong, you don't plan for 3 games. You play to win one game, no matter what, outside blowing out a reliever. Then you wake up Friday and play to win 1 game, no matter what. If that leaves no one but Mangum to pitch Saturday, so be it, then you play to win 1 game. You don't plan out for 3 days. It's all healthy hands on deck tonight. You worry about the game at hand.

If you save Small for Saturday and we lose Friday then you can take your plans and $2 and buy a cup of joe.

Then we lose Saturday. Doesn't matter. Goal is to win a national championship (and not kill our arms doing it).

If you don't think we have the pitching to win Friday then we won't win Saturday anyway.

If the goal is to win the national championship then how do we propose to do that not pitching Small on Friday? If Small pitches on Saturday we would have to try and win the championship 2 out of 3 round with Small not available for any of those 3 games. I mean if he can't go on 4 days rest then I don't see how he could on 3 (third game if it got there) which would be pitching on Saturday and then pitching on Wednesday. Same thing happened in 2013 where we pitched Graveman on Friday and he would have been available for a Wednesday start but we never got UCLA to a 3rd game.

I've explained this about 4 times today already.

We have to at least beat UCLA once without Graveman, so it didn't matter that we held him.

But as far as Small possibly going in the Finals, I mean you certainly have to get there first, just like last year. Still the same situation. Have to beat Vandy twice, no matter which day Small goes.

Where have all these vaginas come from the last couple days? And I'm not talking Lemonis and this decision. I've never seen so much quit in my life. Is Vandy the better team? Probably. How often does the best team win the World Series? I watched an 83-78 Cardinals team win a World Series where the media scoffed that Detroit would win it in 3.

Vandy can be a better team for the next 6 months. If we can win tonight then we just hafta be better than Vandy for 2 days. Baseball is the one sport where the favorite has the biggest chance of losing. I'll be glad when a few of you get off the rag and find something else to quit on.

This will be even more important going forward, now that the balls and bats are about where they should be. The last 3 national title winners (assuming Vandy wins) have been able to hit it out of TDA regularly.

Well we did the right thing in 2013 by pitching Graveman Friday so he at least had the opportunity to pitch against UCLA had we won a game but we don't seem willing to do that with Small. If its just about getting to the Finals then you pitch Small on Saturday (probably would be matched up with Fellows), if its about winning the finals you pitch Small on Friday because our odds of winning the finals without Small pitching at all go down dramatically.

I'm not digging. I'm stating obvious facts. You're trying to justify stupidity.

I don't have to cry about you getting banned. You're doing a pretty good job of getting it done yourself (again).

As I said before the CWS started, we should have pitched Small in Game 2. We knew it was probably going to be Vandy and we know about their left handed bats. Plumlee or Ginn could have beaten AU.

It took a miracle to beat Auburn. Are you saying that Plumlee or Ginn would have held them scoreless? Because we had only scored 1 run off Jack Owen and Co. before said miracle.

Not to mention Vandy would have left Rocker in the game had they not been up 6 so no guarantee we would have scored more than 1 there either.

To me, it just appears that we are not playing well.

I went back and looked at when South Carolina (2010) and Coastal Carolina (2016) went through the loser's bracket to win the championship. You can even add in South Carolina (2012) who fought back and went to the Finals and lost to Arizona, and Arizona (2016), who eventually lost to Coastal. South Carolina (2010) beat a non-host Clemson, Coastal (2016) beat a non-national seed TCU, South Carolina (2012) beat non-host Arkansas, and Arizona (2016) beat a non-host Oklahoma State.

The point here is that they beat non-elite teams. Vanderbilt is the #2 overall seed and are eating teams for breakfast.

Couple that with the current landscape (balls and bats) that is not going to allow AS MUCH randomness, and our small shot is now miniscule. That's where the ****** rot comes from.

You also wait and see what happens with the other bracket. If Texas Tech beats Michigan Friday, you definitely throw Small on Saturday because whoever you play in the Finals will be down on pitching themselves. And you also pray it's Texas Tech that emerges because they will have used more.

I'm stating that Plumlee or Ginn could have held AU to 4 runs. Small gave us 5 innings. They could have done the same. I'm also stating that our best chance to win the first 2 games was to pitch Small in Game 2. The only reason I would have pitched Small in Game 1 is if we planned to use him 3 times in the CWS. Apparently that was never the plan.

Cat Duck, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

That's actually a reply to all of your posts. It was time.

Hell even Duke beat them last week, anything Duke baseball can do we can do twice

P G Bully for the win!!!!

Also...IF...we were to make it to championship round....Small would be able to pitch in game 3 ONLY IF....he pitches Friday.
Again...#endofdiscussion.
