Dude is clutch. You can’t tell me he’s not worth a 17ing 40th round pick. Some baseball GMs are dumb.

Talked to a scout the other day. He was surprised no one took him. He figured it was the foot injury. His team has a policy not to draft injured players(even if they are seemingly recovered. Their doctors won’t clear them). Not sure who all else may have that policy as well.

Mac may never make it to the bigs, but he's a few hits away from immortality. That dude should never, ever buy a drink in Starkville again.

Each team gets 30+ picks each year and none are expected to be MLB ready from the get go unlike NFL and NBA. For teams to not take a chance on an injury that kept him out of play for what.....a couple weeks? It usually takes 3 to 4 years to develop these guys for their MLB active roster and they are worried about a leg injury to a position player that kept him out for a short period. Even if they had to amputate his friggin leg, then DH the dude. He has been solid with the bat all season and a clutch performer when the moment is the biggest and he is facing the best. No......who would want a guy like that?!***

Gotta think some team is gonna sign him as a free agent and give him a shot in rookie ball or single A. Somebody pull some strings for him.

Fair or not, he's perceived to have character issues. There's not enough upside to make teams not care about that. That's straight from a decision maker.

ETA: the injury didn't help his cause either.

What character flaws? I don't remember him having issues.

Get the 17 out of here with that.

Perceived character issues my ***. His teammates and coaches rave about him. He’s been here for three years and I’ve never heard anything about character issues.

What does that even mean? You are going to have to go into detail if you post something like that.

Does he have another year of college eligibility?
