Don't know if he was serious or not but I saw a tweet that said he was moving (again) to NY because of this new betting gig.

Brandon has a lot of life going on right now with coaching his kids teams. Also, Barstool is requiring more and more from him. I think he honestly intended to keep More Cowbell going, but there are just too many irons in the fire.

Yep, I’m thinking unfortunately More Cowbell will soon be no more. Can’t blame him for taking a shot at the national stage, as a State guy I’m pulling for him. Will miss the show if it goes away though. He’s been quite entertaining since I started listening to him with Keep It 100, then SEC Country, then his startup of More Cowbell.

I'm guessing/hoping he brings it back more regularly once football starts back up. Honestly, there's nothing for him to talk about right now. How many podcasts do we need talking about baseball between Dogpile, T&L and Boneyard? He's not a baseball guy anyway.

I wish he would do more podcasts because I like to listen to podcasts in the mornings at the gym and while I'm driving back and forth to work. I'm doing other things at night when he does his facebook live and I know I can listen/watch the facebook later but it is pain in the *** to listen to facebook when your phone is in your pocket. Facebook has to up on your screen. I hope he continues to do More Cowbell because he is the most entertaining of State podcasters.

So he's going to continue to cover MSU sports, from New York?

I doubt it. I think More Cowbell will go away at some point because he just won't have time to do it. He probably wants to do it but won't have time, and it will be off brand if he's trying to build a national brand at Barstool. Good luck to him with whatever he decides though. If I were getting more money and a better gig, I'd go with that.

don't think he will be covering msu that much. I know that he is trying or they are wanting him to do something with SEC football as they don't have much coverage on that. i'm not sure how well one can cover SEC from New York though. I know SEC Network is in North Carolina. ESPN is in Connecticut, but the best coverage is usually local in the area.

Hasn't "Barstool Sports" been the brunt of many a joke on this and most any other sports forum around, as in nobody takes them seriously at all and laughes at them and not with them?

I think that is more Football Scoop than Barstool. Barstool is known for being over the top but I honestly can't say I follow them other than when someone posts a link here.

Barstool is known for their grassroots/underground following. They are a big deal. They are huge in the NE.

Barstool puts out a ton of content. They're also mostly dickheads.

They're the Chive of sports media.

I put one up today and will record another in a bit.

This spring has been crazy. I have 3 kids on 3 different little league schedules and we're coaching one of the teams. Plus the Barstool stuff. Then I have an actual full-time job. So it's been crazy.

Plus, I'm not really a college baseball guy so all I can add to the conversation is looks, humor, charm and class.

I would imagine in the fall, More Cowbell will be settled down. Likely going to be a three-day per week show, but it's not going away.

I was bummed, and a little confused, when I noticed his show wasn’t showing up quite as often on iTunes. I was curious because I’d heard about the move to NYC/NJ on the podcast, but also heard him say the show will continue. So I googled Brandon Walker More Cowbell and this link came up. Turns out he’s still doing shows regularly every week and you can watch/listen here. They’re just not going up on iTunes as often for whatever reason.

Here’s something I was thinking about yesterday while listening to More Cowbell...

Barstool Sports is gaining followers at an incredible pace and quite likely is a big part of the future of sports coverage as ESPN Sportscenter and the like continue to fall out of favor.

Does Brandon Walker joining the Barstool fold now give us the highest-profile Mississippi State-born-and-bred media member to occupy a seat on a national stage?

I know we’ve had a few writers make it in the past, but Brandon has an opportunity to ring our cowbell on a national level to the sports audience of the future.

I honestly think the guy has a tremendous opportunity to be a national-level ambassador for our brand. Personally I hope he does incredibly well and crushes it for Barstool.
