Is SPS turning into Stubhub now?

If our fans by and large cared about our programs, they would do as you say. But, we are not really any different than any other fanbase. While it is normal to be that way, we have a chance to be a little different and be more united (especially considering we are a small fanbase anyway....I mean how much money can you really make off of us?). But alas, it likely isn't to be.

Don't let these guys get you down, though. There are a lot of good dawg fans out there who simply give away tickets.

You must not understand economics*******

I agree with Fishwater99.

https://forums.sixpackspeak.com/sho...9-Regional-250-per-book&p=1625288#post1625288

In this post yesterday, I noticed the person listing the tickets said they had "6" books for sale. I believe that was the maximum you could buy. I'd be curious to know if that person tried to get those tickets at 8:30 am when they went on sale only to turn around and tax the very fans trying to get those tickets. If that is the case, it is pretty pathetic.

I also am curious if it was cleared with this message board. That person utilized this platform to tax our fans and make roughly $600-700 in doing so (assuming those tickets were sold at the $250 price). If your intent is to simply tax this fanbase, then he should have done it entirely on Stubhub.

This an online community of Mississippi State fans. And I, for ethical purposes, would not utilize this platform to double my money on university tickets. There are online platforms (stubhub, vivid) where that can be accomplished anonymously.

Sure appears that way.
On the other hand, maybe it serves our fans right. On one side, you have guys trying to profit off of our already small and cash-strapped fanbase. On the other hand, you have 'average' fans who think they are entitled to unlimited seats in the lower deck for their wheelchair bound granny, high-maintenance wife and 5 kids, to see one of the most in-demand baseball programs in the country, at any time they wish, for face value. I guess the extremes average out.

Kind of a metaphor for 2019 Murrica.

You also have a lot of fans who won’t pay $100/year to join the BDC. If you aren’t a bulldog club member, then you couldn’t buy tickets at 830a on Tuesday.

So you could argue a service is being provided to some of our fans who are cheap.

I have zero problems with the OP setting his price on the tickets. For some reason most of you guys think that the face value of the ticket is what the original purchaser paid for the ticket but if he is a season ticket holder he probably paid double or triple the face value for the privilege of buying that ticket. I do not buy baseball season tickets but each one of my $75 face value football tickets cost me about $375 with seat license fees and parking pass figured in. That's not even including lodging, food and fuel for the weekend. If he can get double face value then that's the market. If you don't want to pay market value then get off that checkbook and start buying season tickets.

Hear, hear. Agree with fish, 100%. If you’re selling above face value, go to StubHub.

I'll add to this logic: For baseball season ticket holders, we had to pay TEN years worth of Bulldog Club seat royalties in order to secure seats in the new stadium. For example, I have 4 tickets and so I had to pay my $150 BDC fee x 4 tickets x 10 years = $6,000 total. They let you pay this in 3 installments: 1/3 when you committed to the seats, 1/3 prior to last season, 1/3 before this season. For the guy with 6 regional books (thus 6 season tickets), he paid $9k to the BDC just for the right to purchase those tickets, then he has to buy the tickets. He can do whatever the Hell he wants to do with those tickets. They are his and he paid a premium for them

Except for break the law.

He can sell them all day long on Stubhub. Hopefully an opposing fan will buy them, bringing more money from outside of MSU into MSU. No one is telling him what he can and can't do.

The hope is that he would want to help out other fellow dawgs. I get it though, that is too much to ask.

You get benefits for your BC donations, so don't act as if that's an investment to be recouped.

Exactly

If you aren’t a bulldog club member, then you couldn’t buy tickets at 830a on Tuesday..

That statement is why I have the position I do.

If only Bulldog Club members could order at 830am Tuesday morning, then it appears a Bulldog Club member utilized their membership to purchase the maximum allotment for the sole purpose of redistributing them on the secondary market. That is taking away ticket buying opportunities from other Bulldog Club members only to offer them a price that is double face value. The first Bulldog Club member that got a "we are out of tickets" response from the ticket office missed out because another Bulldog Club member wanted to make a few hundred dollars.

Don’t care about what you want to sell them for, but agree on keeping it on the ticket exchange board.

Keep it on the exchange board or.....charge the seller a 30% finder's fee for using this board to sell it. I'm not sure who owns this board, but I'm sure he supports this economics line everyone keeps dropping.

So all of you blabbering about economics have to be in favor of this boards charging a fee

My suggestion. Tickets at face value or less, can be posted at no charge. Any tickets advertised above face, should pay a fee to the board.

No reason to expect to use this boards resources at no cost

If The Godfather doesn’t want me selling on this board or wants to charge me 30%, I’m not gonna whine like a little witch abt either.

I’ll either pay it or adapt.
