If the last spot was down to Ole Miss and A&M then the correct team was chosen. Ole Miss went 4-0 against A&M. Did not expect either to host though, thought they would give the last spot to another ACC team (NC State or Miami) to make it more balanced with the conferences.

Somebody do the math and figure out who we’re paired with.
I’m cool with Oxford... not so much Batin Rouge.

But I figure Oxford is paired with Los Angeles.

My gut tells me that 4 SEC teams will be paired in the supers. LSU with either us or Arkansas and Ole Miss with either us or Vandy make sense to me.

If you take om over tamu i cant see how the committee can rank lsu over om. But they dont always make sense. It will be one of those two though

Two, they will allow up to Four teams to be able to make it to Omaha. Don't be surprised if they pair us with Ole Miss or Vandy with LSU.

Is it not an unwritten rule to not pair conference rival hosts for Super matchups? We had 7 hosts in 2016 and none were paired.

Usually Supers pitting 2 SEC teams contain a 2 seed that won an away regional.

Good to know. I didn’t remember any changes in the system. Is there any press on the change? Curious to see the reasoning behind it.

That used to be the written rule that 2 #1 seeds from the same conference couldn't match up in a super regional. But in 2018, the NCAA started seeding the regional hosts 1-16. Last year, they matched up the Florida St. and Clemson regionals in a super regional. But Mississippi State and Vanderbilt won those regionals as the #2 seeds and played in the super regional. So no, there is no unwritten rule.

Because they want a true 1-16 seed. To do that you cant worry about conference

Will be a max of 2 All-SEC Super Regionals unless a non-host SEC team advances in another regional that is paired with an SEC host or winner. State, Vandy, UGA, and Arkansas are all national seeds. Can only pair LSU / OM with 2 of those. But make no mistake, its very likely that both of them are going to be paired with SEC national seeds.

I am surprised in the fact that om was 7 spots behind tamu in rpi and 50 spots behind in ooc rpi. But om had a really good quad 1 win total
