I don't really like it, but it's no big deal. Hopefully, he'll pitch well. The plus side to this is, it gets more work for a lesser used pitcher so he'll hopefully be sharp for the regional if needed.

I don't like it either, but Lemonis gets paid to make these decisions. Most of his decisions this year have worked out pretty well for us.

I’m a fan of the decision. Gives a chance to use Small tomorrow in either an elimination game or a winner’s bracket game where a win would give us another day off.

I'm not crazy about this either but then its not my call. The corn dogs on tiger sh** were convinced they would face Small tonight. Not that they are baseball savants.

Then on the other hand, LSU has lost 5 midweek games this season and most were not slugfests either.

True, although we've probably greatly increased our chances of being in the elimination game. Our offense better be ready to score some runs tonight.

I don't like it either. Really sick of losing to those corndogs but will prepare for it to happen again tonight.

Completely agree. If we lose, it gives us a starting rotation for the next 3 games that will in all likelihood be a significant advantage over any team that we'll be facing. If we win, it gives us an outstanding chance to win the whole thing. Hell, if we lose tonight and one of our next couple games, it gives our guys more rest before the games that actually matter

In my mind, there's basically no bad scenario that comes from letting Smith start tonight.

not to mention the most important aspect, we keep Small, Ginn, and Plumlee in their normal routines.

I’m fine with it overall. In the event that we somehow lose tonight and also get down big or caught up in a close game tomorrow, I hope we have a plan to get Ginn some innings tomorrow in addition to Small. It would not be ideal for our top 2 starters to not both get some work in this week. A lot of times, too much rest for a pitcher from live action can be more detrimental than not enough rest. Don’t want that heading into a regional if we can avoid it.

if you're that worried about this game, it's better to lose without Small on the mound than with him.

Just get sick of losing to LSU in baseball. But that's the point, I don't think we would lose to them with Small, I do think we will lose to them pitching our midweek guys. I do now hope Vandy wins today because if we do lose tonight and have to play Vandy in an elimination game tomorrow we could very easily be going home after 2 games even with Small available tomorrow.

Brandon Smith is more than capable of getting us a win tonight. Don’t understand the problem with putting him on the mound tonight. I like it. He will be a weekend starter for us next season.

Lighten up, Mrs. Smith..

People saying they were in favor of starting Small doesn't mean they were hating on him.
