Just bought a box set of the complete series. Is it worth it?

Don't worry. I made the same mistake a couple years ago. You probably paid less though.

It came highly recommended by the same guy who turned me on to a couple of other series I binged and loved. By the 2nd Katey Sagal song you'll know. I gave it two seasons before giving up. Plenty of people love it though. Will be interested to hear your thoughts.

How much you want for it?

Cover the shipping and it's yours. No clue as to the condition of any of it as I've not opened it in years.

Season 1 I liked. It progressively got worse from there.

While we’re discussing TV series, I need some opinions. I’ve never seen a single episode of “Breaking Bad”. So many people I know loved BB and do many have recommended it to me. I’m trying to decide buying the complete series on DVD. Is it worth it? I’ve heard enough good things about it from several people, but some other opinions would be helpful as well as appreciated. Thank you!

To me, even the greatest shows ever start bottoming out toward the end...sopranos, GOTs, etc.

SOA is in my top 20 of best series I’ve watched. Maybe top 15.

It's so much harder to end something well than to start it well. Even in the golden age of television it's hard for me to name off hand beloved series that ended in a totally satisfying way. Breaking Bad pulled it off in my book, but some have problems with it too.

SOA was good early but after a certain character dies, the show seems to lose its heart. All Sutter does in the last few seasons is shock TV and slow montages with his wife singing. By the end of the show there isn’t a character with a single redeeming quality, I wanted them all to die.

I’m interested to see there are so many people still buying box set DVDs of tv series.

I liked it. It has its flaws and it ebbs and flows in quality, but overall I would say it was worth it. It would be a good series to get through the dog days of summer before football starts.
